Hi Charelisse, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Hi, I am Charelisse’s mua and I started doing makeup since I was 16 years old and living in Puerto Rico. In 2015 I decided to move to Florida and start doing makeup tutorials online. Pretty soon I found a whole new world in which I could also do classes. Everything was going smooth until the pandemic hit us, that when I try to reinvent myself and decide to launch my online makeup classes which was a complete success. I love to inspire other women to feel pretty and confident with themselves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has been a bumpy road, as an online makeup artist you always want to go viral and numbers are everything even more than your talent but I learned to do what I feel comfortable with and the followers will come along when they see you are a normal person just like them and inspire them to follow their dreams.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At the beginning I was more focus on makeup tutorials, doing clients’ makeup, etc. As the time pass by I started to incorporate lifestyle, fashion, and skincare to my content. I am definitely more proud of not being shy anymore, I just for used to be scared of the camera but Know I love it!!!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I definitely would love to have my own studio someday and being able to live full-time doing what I love. I would love to do classes with big groups of women wanted to feel confident and learn.
