Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Sansing.
Hi Chase, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We first started our wedding videography business in Nashville, TN where we both met. After we vacationed a few times in Florida, we decided to make the move. During this time, I was working a part time job in Tampa while working my business on the side. After 4 months of living in Florida, Allen received a job offer in Melbourne. I wasn’t able to transfer with my job so I was kind of forced to go full time with my business. It was a scary time, but I felt like I was ready. Little did I know, Covid was about to become a thing.
Before we moved down to Florida, I was so worried that my business wouldn’t take off because I didn’t know how the wedding industry was here. After all the work we’ve put in and the connections and friendships we’ve made, I can definitely say that it was 100% worth it. Florida was the best thing to ever happen to my business, so much so, we are booking 50% of our weddings inside Florida and 50% in other states now.
The thing I love the most about owning a business in Florida is the people that we get to work with. The people here are amazing. There’s not a single couple that we’ve worked with that wasn’t unique and a joy to be around.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Besides just learning the industry and learning the ropes of the business in Florida, I’d say that everything has been smooth. The only hick up we had was with Covid. We had a few weddings postponed and we’ve even had to cancel a few because we caught covid ourselves back in 2020.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are destination wedding filmmakers based in Florida. We started in Nashville where we filmed mostly music videos, but after moving to Florida, we decided to specialize in weddings. It has been the best decision we’ve ever made.
Our couples say they love our videos because they are unique, edgy, and nontraditional which always makes me happy to hear! Our goal is to include multiple emotions in our wedding films instead of just tears of joy. We want our couples to laugh, cry, and feel inspired after watching our films.
I’m mostly proud that I’ve figured out the business and know what I am doing. A lot of our pricing is based on our experience. We know how to film weddings and we know how to capture the vibe our couples want for the wedding film so they can remember forever. Also, since we started (approx. 4 years ago) we’ve been featured several times: Essence, Forbes, LoveStories TV, The Knot, Munaluchi Bride, Amazing Thailand, and Bellanaja Weddings. We’re also extremely proud of the friendships the business has brought us. Some of the vendors that we’ve worked with are going to be life long friends and we are so grateful for that!
What sets us apart?: We literally go above and beyond for our couples. Relationship is the most important thing to us because we feel like that is the secret to telling their love story the best way possible. We do this by getting to know them through Zoom calls, offering a complimentary engagement session where the couple can meet us in person and see themselves in a video before their wedding film. I can’t give away all of our secrets but relationships with our couples is our highest priority. 95% are going to be life long friends. We get invited to so many baby showers. 😂 We love it!
Another main goal of ours is just to make people happy. Our job is to capture one of our couple’s most important days and tell their story at the same time. We get asked all the time if it ever gets boring filming these weddings, but the truth is, it never does. Most of the time, the itinerary is the same, but 100% of the time, the couples are different. That’s what makes every wedding and wedding film unique and fun.
What are your plans for the future?
While we plan to continue going down the path that we are on, we hope to eventually start an education course for other filmmakers. I remember when we first started, I always wished I had someone to talk to about what to do/not to do. I want to be that person for other filmmakers who are starting out. We just started offering mentor sessions but in a few years, we plan to expand on that.
We also plan on slowly transitioning into elopements like our own wedding. We eloped on an island in Thailand (yes, we filmed and edited our own wedding film 😂). We feel like elopements would allow us to get on a deeper level with our couples which is always the goal.
Pricing:
- We are currently in the mid $6,000 range but it’s constantly changing as bookings come in.
- Our destinations start in the mid-$7000 but always changing.
