Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Evans
Hi Chelsea, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Yes, like many of us we go through a period in our life where we are not necessarily certain on what we want to do. Whether it be our career, continuing our education, or starting a business. In 2018 I created my lash business iCeeMinks (named after myself), that did really well for itself and allowed for me to gain an ample amount of support from my community. Moving along the years between 2018-2021 I had a change in direction with what I wanted to do, which lead me to create motivational content / videos to be able to inspire those who may have needed extra encouragement along their own personal journey. In 2022-2023, I would like to call this era my awakening period. After suffering with mild-depression, losing hope of my ability to accomplish my dreams, etc. This moment became my reset – simply the rise of the phoenix. I became determined to accomplish everything I placed on my heart to do. September of 2023 I secured my dream job that will elevate me into my career field. Beginning January 2024 I’ve been able to secure 5 brand deals as well as gain a supportive following on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. I’ve started a new business by the name of “Leading Edge Notary Services”, where we are here to make your documents official. In May 2024, I secured my Associates degree in Sociology. I say all of this to remind those that although we may have written plans for ourselves, the plans God has for us are even greater!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not! I’ve had to learn that when you are on a journey of finding yourself, growing/elevating in any sort of way you are going to be tested. I’ve had to cut out many friendships, a long-lasting relationship, people diminishing my character, and ultimately create boundaries just to become who I am today. I’ve gone through depression after dealing with the lost of my son, close family members, and so forth. Through it all, I believe that God does everything for a reason and if he brought me through it; others can be brought through it as well.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently work with the Department of Juvenile Justice specializing in all things that assist with keeping my unit organized, as well as providing official state documents. I am also a Florida Notary Public which means documents as far as oaths, vin verifications, Acknowledgements, Power of Attorney, etc. I’m able to provide my clients with a notarize signature. Lastly, I serve as Youth Coordinator / Dance choreographer at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, in St.Petersburg, FL working with young girls between the ages of 6-17 years old. I am most proud of my endurance, my will and overall drive to never give up. What sets me apart from others is that I’m not afraid to speak on what I’ve gone through and been a testament of. I am someone that remains her authentic self in the midst of chaos and confusion. As much as I want to see myself win, my passion is to help those realize they’re a winner as well.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
My mother has always taught me to remember that I am blessed. To remind me of “Who I am and whose I am” so, can I necessarily say it’s luck? No but, I can say that I have truly been blessed. My faith is what has played a major role in my life, my faith is what has kept me along this journey. My belief in knowing that although I may have wanted something to work out or wanted to get something done on my time, it was God’s timing that worked out for what I needed. Above all through the good and the bad, what I’ve experienced thus far in life was necessary.
