Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Criado.
Hi Daniel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started making music in 9th grade for fun, but then I started taking it seriously when I started making music with my best friend in 11th grade. We started recording of our songs on really bad mics and we both saved up to have a not-perfect but manageable setup to record and mix all from home. Now I record and mix all in my home studio.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It absolutely has not been a smooth road. Working with music 24/7 can get frustrating sometimes and demotivating but I always remember the accomplishments I’ve made so far and don’t let my negative energy get to my head.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of my latest song I can tell with my best friend Tristan (trysn). I’ve been getting a lot of good feedback for it and I think that I’m headed in a new direction in my music because of that song
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Don’t be afraid to put ideas on the table. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind, and don’t be afraid of rejection
