Life & Work with Danilsa Stella of Winter Garden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Danilsa Stella.

Hi Danilsa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Where to start? I was born and raised in a tiny town named Lawrence, MA, until 16. After the unfortunate passing of my mother and shortly after my maternal grandparents at that age, my hometown wasn’t home anymore. Without them, my whole world is gone. I moved to New York after all the losses, where the next sixteen years would be the hectic roller coaster of my life. I met amazing people; horrible people experienced darkness, loneliness the struggle of just trying to see another day. Some days were great and some bad, but I always felt empty inside. Amid the chaos, I became pregnant with my daughter, not knowing a thing about having a human to care for. How was I going to handle being a parent when I couldn’t handle being a person? Being a single parent, I suffered from depression, anxiety, alcoholism, bitterness, anger, and so many other unspoken things a mother silently goes through. One day, I accepted an invitation to the church and surrounded myself with uplifting people who didn’t give up on me. It was a moment of seeing more in life and that there is always an opportunity to change your perspective of life. I relocated to Florida, where I started from zero.

There were several challenges in the change of life and location. Still, as I sit and remember where I was to where I am now, my heart is full, and my spirit is happy. I can share that I now have a great place called home, friends, and family that you could only dream of; a daughter is blossoming beautifully and thriving in her last year of elementary school. I started my small business selling plants, personalizing items, and completing a short storybook. Where I share in-depth experiences I have lived every day is a new brick I pave as I build my business and put into reality all I’ve dreamed of. I’m on my way up. Nowadays, I take care of my heart, mind, and body by working with a trainer, @thatfitmom, where I have learned to take care of me of myself. As women and mothers, we need to care for ourselves. If not, we can’t care for others, and if we don’t love ourselves, we can’t properly love others. I lost it all at 16 but have gained more than I could ever imagine and so much more to come. Sometimes we have to go through obstacles in life to mold who we are meant to be. I was meant to be light. I was meant to love. I was meant to give and pour into people. Healing was the only way I could get to where I was. I had to experience and learn life on different platforms. My advice to all is if you’re willing to make changes, adjust, completely break, and understand staying still in the storm, having faith the sun will shine again. Only then could you decide to pick yourself up and build the person you want to become and achieve the things you want from life. The Danilsa Marie Stella journey has been one hell of a ride, and I will keep riding the hell out of it until the wheels are all off.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My first obstacle was the loss of my mother, as she was our rock. No matter what was going on, she kept going. Being a mother made me realize her struggles. I can’t say it’s been smooth; there were so many falls and bumps. It was during those hard times that because my mother led by experience and was able to pick me up kept going, and as I healed, I became strong in my awaking, my desire not to remain in the struggle but to fight through it until things were smooth.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Besides my small growing business, I am an office supervisor for an agency that cares for medically fragile children. We partner up with places like Nathaniel Hope and The Down Syndrome Society to help medically fragile patients and their family with all possible resources. I’m proud of the women I work with. I’m in an environment where we are a team with empathy and believe in the core value of what it is to help children and families in need—a team of women with the most beautiful hearts a person could see. And there’s no better humbling feeling in see the charities we do help other families, primarily single moms.🙂. What sets me apart is I don’t have a clock-in clock-out job; I have a give your heart, give your time for a better world job. A place we laugh and look forward to going to every morning.

What changes do you expect to see in your work and the industry over the next five to ten years?
A lot more growth in both professions gaining tools to excel and reaching higher and higher levels of professional achievements and opening a more significant new office to run in January 2023 to help out fragile children and their families, and so much more in the works to continue writing and sharing more to inspire people. Through art and words, we could help each other.
