Life & Work with Elanis Alvarez of Clermont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elanis Alvarez.

Hi Elanis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got certified in pastry and cake making in 2021, and that’s when I officially started my baking business. What began as a personal passion quickly turned into something more—creating custom cakes and desserts for all kinds of events. I love being able to bring someone’s vision to life in something sweet and delicious. It’s been a journey of growth, creativity, and lots of flour, and I’m excited for what’s ahead!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been worth it. In the beginning, I struggled with pricing my work, managing time between orders, and balancing quality with speed. There were times I doubted myself, especially when things didn’t turn out how I planned. I also had to learn the business side—like marketing, customer service, and staying organized. But every challenge taught me something, and I’ve grown so much as both a baker and a business owner because of it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in custom cakes and pastries for all kinds of events—birthdays, weddings, baby showers, and more. What I’m known for is attention to detail, personalized designs, and flavors that taste just as good as they look. I take pride in making each order unique, whether it’s a clean, elegant cake or something fun and creative. I’m most proud of how far I’ve come since getting certified in 2021—starting from scratch and building something with my own hands. What sets me apart is the care I put into every order. I don’t just bake—I create edible memories that reflect my clients’ stories and celebrations.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending weekends watching cartoons in my pajamas with a bowl of cereal. It was my little moment of peace and happiness before the week started again.
