Life & Work with Ethan Riewaldt of Orlando & Surrounding areas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ethan Riewaldt.

Hi Ethan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Personal Training in 1985 as a strength coach for my youngest brothers Football team in Lompoc, California, where I was also training at the Lompoc Dance Studio and continued my Musical Theater Career with shows like Guys n Dolls, Oklahoma and Pirates 🏴‍☠️ of Penance at the Santa Barbara Granada Theatre.

I moved to Las Vegas in 1993 where I continued Teaching Fitness Classes & building ERock Fitness & My Swim Program 1993-99. I worked with News 3 for their Wednesday Child on “Drowning Prevention”. My Classes were Cycling, Aqua, Body Pump, Step, Step & Sculpt, HI-Low, Boot Camps & Specialty classes like Pilates based Fitness Classes because of my 10 Years as a Dancer. also performed as a Stuntman doing Shows at the Excalibur and the MGM Grand, The Dueling Pirate Stunt Show and danced at the Rivieria as well as My Musical Theater with Seven Brides, Jesus Christ Superstar @ UNLV,
Westside Story- Bernardo, H.M.S. Pinafore, and Guys N Dolls for the second time.

I moved to Orlando Florida in 1999. I was offered the role as Sinbad in the Eighth Voyage of Sinbad at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Pirates Dinner Adventure & King Henry’s Feast. I continued Teaching, Personal Training & providing my Swim Program. Teaching for several places. The YMCA, LA Fitness, Orlando Racquet Club. I incorporated ERock Fitness in 2006 & ran the fitness programs at the Marriott Grand Vista from 2006 to 2015. Specialty Classes at the Hilton and have been on call as a Personal Trainer and Specialty Instructor at the Waldorf Astoria since 2011.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the struggle at the beginning was being told that I would never earn a living as a Fitness Instructor or Personal Trainer.
But if you do what you Love and Love what you do you’ll never Work A Day in your life. It was never about money. It was always about helping others. I can actually thank my brother David who was special needs who taught me how to care for and help others & never give up. He died of heart failure at 26 but showed me more Heart than anybody I know. Gratefully I actually started the Silver Sneakers program in California in 1992 when it first came out.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well, I’m a fitness instructor who has an extensive background in Dance and Musical Theater. I absolutely. Loved teaching Cycling and Pilates back to back. I think I’m most proud of the fact that most of the Shows and Fitness Facilities I trained at were word-of-mouth and recommendations from previous clients and performers. I think thats what set me apart from most is my diversified skills, not just as a fitness instructor or a dancer or as a stunt person, but even as an entertainer & my love for people and helping others to change their lives, 1 breath at a time, 1 moment at a time, 1 step at a time.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being true to myself, being honest and caring for the people that I come across in my endeavors. Giving love and respect.
