Today we’d like to introduce you to G. Mac Lloyd, Intelli-te, and Ms. Lex.
Hi G., Intelli-te, Ms., so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We were all around the table one evening discussing various topics in regards to life, the world, and everything in between. Within that conversation, one of now brother podcasts member was like, “you ladies have a lot to say, and the world needs to hear it!” From that point, we knew had something great but just didn’t (at the time) know how to express it. Before you knew it, GLMTY was born.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is ever smooth (lol). At first, things seemed like they just fell into place (naming the podcast, topic ideas, etc.). Then we hit a bump in the road when it came to designing our logo, color schemes, and time frames to release. But we must admit that everything came together quite nicely.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
We are refined group of women of color who loves showcasing our voices. Our podcast is committed to educating and learning, along with having fun at all times. We want to use our platform to do so many amazing things. Whether that be to inspire those who may not feel listened to or to bring a smile to someone on their ride home from. We want to always be true to ourselves with our podcast but, most importantly, show others that anything is possible. We are most proud of ourselves for just starting. As simple as that may sound, something just showing up is a win. We all knew we wanted to do a podcast, but just like everyone else, life gets in the way, whether that be full times jobs, kids, and still searching for ‘me’ time. So, for us, just doing what it takes to start this journey has been a blessing and our proudest moment.
What sets us apart from others is our ability to laugh at ourselves and be transparent.
We’d love to hear about what you think about risk-taking.
Our view on risk-taking is simple: Take a risk and potentially change your life for the better or don’t take the risk and stay stagnant. At least if you attempt and try, there is more of a probability that will something positive will come out of the situation. And if it doesn’t, you know where you went wrong to try again with more success. If you never take a risk, nothing changes. Ever.
