Life & Work with Genesis Davis of Clermont

Today we’d like to introduce you to Genesis Davis

Genesis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
From a young age, I’ve always had a passion for creativity and self-expression. Growing up in Orlando, Florida, Disney was a huge part of my life—there was just something so magical about the stories, the characters, and the immersive experiences that sparked my imagination. That love for Disney and all things fandom naturally found its way into my journey as a content creator.

For years, I’ve been creating content in many different ways—whether it was through makeup, fitness, or fashion. I loved using social media as a space to share my passions, inspire others, and build a community. As I evolved, so did my content, leading me to where I am today with Geneie_Loves_Magic, a platform where I combine everything I love—theme parks, fandom, makeup, and fashion.

Now, I get to create fun, engaging, and magical content that resonates with people who share the same passions. Whether it’s styling a Disney-inspired outfit, showcasing immersive theme park experiences, or sharing beauty looks inspired by my favorite characters, I love bringing joy to my audience. My journey has been a mix of passion, creativity, and faith, and I’m so excited to continue growing, evolving, and spreading magic wherever I go!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into the creator I am today.

Being plus-size has always had its highs and lows, especially in the world of fashion and content creation. There have been moments of feeling unseen or struggling to find brands that truly embrace inclusivity. But through it all, I’ve learned to celebrate myself, embrace my uniqueness, and use my platform to inspire others to do the same.

Another challenge has been navigating the space as an African American content creator. Representation in the theme park, fandom, and fashion communities hasn’t always been as strong as it should be, and at times, it felt like I had to work twice as hard to be recognized. But that has only fueled my passion even more—to show others that they belong, that their voices matter, and that they can take up space unapologetically.

On top of that, balancing content creation with real-life responsibilities hasn’t always been easy. From working full-time in education to staying consistent in my creative journey, there have been times when I questioned if I was doing enough. But through faith, determination, and an amazing support system, I’ve kept pushing forward.

Despite the struggles, I wouldn’t change my journey for anything. Every obstacle has made me stronger, more resilient, and even more committed to spreading joy and magic through my content.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’d love to share more about what I do!

By profession, I am an educator with a deep passion for helping others grow, learn, and reach their full potential. My journey in education has allowed me to serve in multiple roles, from being a special education instructor to a general education K-5 teacher and a program specialist for special needs. Now, I have the privilege of working as an academic advisor, guiding college students as they navigate their own educational journeys. No matter the age group, my mission has always been the same—to inspire, educate, and empower.

Education has been instilled in me from an early age, and I truly believe in the power of shaping brilliant minds and creating a better future. What I love most is being able to make a difference, whether it’s helping a young child build confidence in their abilities or supporting a college student in achieving their academic and career goals. Seeing the impact of my work, no matter how big or small, is what I am most proud of.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people—whether it’s in the classroom, through my role as an advisor, or as a content creator. I bring a mix of education, creativity, and authenticity to everything I do. Whether I’m teaching, mentoring, or creating content that uplifts and inspires, my goal is always to leave a lasting impact.

Being both an educator and a content creator allows me to bridge two worlds—helping others through knowledge and creativity. I love what I do, and I’m excited to continue growing, inspiring, and making a difference in every space I’m in!

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I Love Most:

Orlando and Clermont both hold a special place in my heart for different reasons! Being a native of Orlando, I’ve always loved the magic this city brings—whether it’s through theme parks, diverse culture, or endless entertainment. There’s always something exciting to do, from exploring Walt Disney World and Universal Studios to discovering hidden gems in the local food and arts scene. The energy here is unmatched, and it’s amazing to be surrounded by people who share a love for creativity, adventure, and fun.

Clermont, on the other hand, offers a beautiful escape from the busyness of Orlando while still being close to all the magic. I love the rolling hills, peaceful lakes, and strong sense of community. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, and it’s amazing to see how much it has grown over the years.

What I Like Least:
If I had to choose something, it would probably be the traffic—especially in Orlando! With so many tourists and major attractions, getting around can sometimes be a challenge. Another thing is the unpredictable weather—you can start your day with sunshine and end it with a full-on rainstorm!

But despite those minor inconveniences, I wouldn’t trade living here for anything. Both Orlando and Clermont offer so much magic, opportunity, and community, and I’m proud to call them home!
