Life & Work with Isabella Fioretti Seelund

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Fioretti Seelund.

Hi Isabella, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Sure, I’m from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), I moved to the USA 6 years ago (2016). 6 years have passed since I decided to restart my life. I came alone, no family, no money, no English (I just spoke a few words);  all I had was hope for of better days. Every beginning is hard, my first job was cleaning offices at night, I didn’t have a car at the time. I went back and forth (sometimes past midnight) riding my purple bike.

For a year I worked cleaning hotel rooms, houses, and offices. Then I became a nanny. I love the kids, it was just so easy for me to be a nanny. For 5 years I worked for a few families (loved all of them), and with my last family was when I had the idea to start my own business. I used to always take my bunnies for the girls (that I worked for) to play. So I started thinking why not do that for everyone, so everyone can have fun with farm animals.

My first party was January 8th, then I was booked every weekend. Easter was a success with egg hunts with live bunnies. In less than 6 months we had more than 50 parties and 900+ followers on Facebook and Instagram.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a small business is never easy. Many times, I thought about to give up, but my lovely husband never let me. He is always on my side, supporting me, and building my website and behind the scenes stuff.

Summer is a hot time and no one wants to play outside with animals. So, we had to think about something new; we created our Summer Bunny Party with games and activities for the kids. We also try to plan for indoors or patio when it rains, or is simply too hot for the bunnies.

We have to always be creating something new, so our pets are happy and our customers don’t get bored.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My business is a Mobile Petting Zoo. We bring the farm experience to birthday parties, schools, and events in general. I love seeing the kid’s face when they pet a chicken or a bunny for the first time.

I am from a big city (Rio de Janeiro/Brazil), so I never grew up around farm animals; now I can bring this experience to kids all over Central Florida. That’s just fantastic and I love it.

My mobile petting zoo is always creating something new. We don’t just bring the animals to people’s front yards. We bring the farm life and magic experiences. Some of our products are Tea Party with Bunnies, Little Farm Party, and Summer Bunny Party. We have baby chicks and young turkeys too sometimes! It’s great for schools wanting to teach more than just pictures in a book, we had so much fun with all of the elementary programs and camps.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Always think about my animal’s safety first. They are my babies; they are my everything. So, I’m always doing what’s best for them. Their care and safety comes first, before any business we do. Bunny and farm life isn’t just pet care. Farm life is real, it’s honest, and its unrelenting sometimes. Tik never stops escaping and the Florida climate never lets us put our guard down.
