Today we’d like to introduce you to Jack Marchese.
Hi Jack, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was always into cars. Starting in elementary school I would hang out with Dad and help him in the garage. We lived in Broadheadsville, Pennsylvania. In 1995 I got my first truck to get me back and forth to school and work. It was a 1979 C10 Chevy with an inline 6. I remember I always had to put snow in the bed to keep it planted on the road in the winter. That thing would slide all over the place. Drove that thing till the rear end gave out. Barely had any money, so I had to settle for a 1995 Salmon-colored Hyundai Accent. I hated that car. It smelled the way it looked and I couldn’t get it to go any faster than 65.
In 1996 I moved to Arizona, with the Hyundai. I remember driving on I-40 and every time a Semi would pass me, I’d draft him and actually got that thing going to 70. Until the Semi turned, then it was back down to 65. Oh yea, and that car didn’t have AC. Did I mention I moved to Arizona….lol?
In AZ I started working as a Diesel Mechanic in Tempe. First chance I got, I traded the Salmon mistake for a 1998 Chevy Malibu. That was a nice car, but I had my eyes on a ‘99 Monte Carlo. Got the Monte Carlo, started modifying it, and within two months, I also got 8 points on my license. So that got Sold. Bought a Ford Explorer Sport instead. Maintained it all myself.
In 2004, I moved back to PA. Couldn’t keep up with Payments so I had to get rid of that. After that, I bounced between a 1997 Cavalier and a 1988 Dodge Aries. Wrecked the Cavalier and nursed the Aries along till the engine blew up.
In 2003 I moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. Then I got a 1987 Nissan 300ZX – loved that car! I also found a wife which made me very happy.
In 2013 my wife and I bought a small farm outside of Hartford City, Indiana. Soon after that my wife took the 300 for a spin into a ditch. That didn’t make me happy (Wife was ok).
In 2016 my wife and kids moved to Brandon FL. That’s a little warmer than Indiana. Started working for a roofing company and owned my own lawn service. Truck was a god sent.
Unfortunately in 2019 it blew an injector for the third time and I decided a change had to be made, so I bought a ‘08 Expedition. Now I had the Expedition and a broken-down F250. I could sell the F250 for pennies on the dollar or part it out. You can guess what I did.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course we struggled. Nothing is ever easy but if you have someone by your side who loves you and supports you, it makes life a whole lot easier because you don’t feel like you are going it alone.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m just a simple guy who loves his family. I’m grateful for what I have and consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to make a difference. Hillbilly Auto Supply, my business, parts our Ford Superduty trucks. We sell these parts to other folks just like me. I believe in doing one thing and doing it 100%. So I chose to build a business around a simple concept. Only Ford Superduty F250, F350 and F450 parts. That’s it. We stick to that. You can buy the parts straight from our website. That helps folks from all over the country and I’m proud to say that I am able to help them keep their trucks on the road.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Of course my amazing wife, Crystal. She has always been my cheerleader. If it wasn’t for her support I would have never been able to pull this off. My brother inspires me too. He started his own business and I have always admired his guts and grit.
