Today we’d like to introduce you to Jen Sandoval.
Hi Jen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Since I was a little girl, I remember how my grandpa always had a camera on him, we used to do a lot of road trips and he always had his camera documenting our trips and sightseeing for it was really exciting to me to go through the pictures and see all the memories we built together. At the same time this was happening, my mom got a job at a photography studio and they asked my mom if I could be the model for the displays at the store, I remember very well all the process it took by then to reveal a photo and the excitement to see the final result. Definitely all these experiences had an impact in childhood and influenced my passion for photography. As I got older and became a mom of two beautiful girls, I started taking pictures to cherish their growth and all the memories we were building together, since now social media is a big influence in connecting family and friends I began sharing my pictures with them all of the sudden multiple people contacted me asking if I could take their family photos for holidays and special occasions, this brought back all my childhood memories and ignited the love for photography in me. My husband was very supportive and it was him who encouraged and pushed me to follow my passion. Afterwards, my friends began encouraging me to take this to another level, it was then that I decided to make this “my full time DREAM JOB” doing what I love, helping other families capture their special moments and turning them into lifetime memories. I can truly say that I’m very blessed to have this opportunity in my life because every time I have a camera in my hands, I can’t stop smiling because I’m doing what I love the most. Everyday I’m learning something new, I’m evolving and growing in this beautiful journey.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Even though Photography has been around me since a young age, I never imagined getting this far, my hardest struggle was building my self-confidence and being able to share and show this part of me to the world.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love working with my clients, the connections that we make and the challenges they bring me to help create that special moment and time through a photo. We put together some ideas and make them happen, I will take photos at any location and setting that my clients choose whether at a park, a beach, a venue or their home.
What sets me apart is how I use the colors creating my own unique style which shows my personality and the feelings captured in every single photo which is my main purpose, not only take pictures but transmit feelings through them, I love to share with all of you the way my eyes see the world!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the variety of places that we have in Orlando which allows me to create different scenes and settings for my customers. The least I like probably would be the rain but at the same time I can use it for my sessions, so no big deal with that!
