Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Kurant.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My lifelong dream of becoming a photographer is finally a reality after attending Ringling College of Art and Design and receiving my bachelor’s degree in Photography & Digital Imaging. I’ve been capturing families, engagements, weddings, events, proposals etc for over 17 years. I love meeting clients and hearing their story(because we all have one) and incorporating their personalities into the art of the photograph.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I started out part time and became full time over the last 3 years. I moved from Sarasota to Orlando and had to build my cliental up again which was a struggle.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a wedding and portrait photographer based in the Orlando and Sarasota area, turning moments into timeless art. Photography has been my lifelong dream, and after earning my bachelor’s degree in Photography & Digital Imaging from Ringling College of Art and Design, that dream became my reality.
For the past 18 years, I’ve had the joy of capturing weddings, events, and portraits—each one a unique story waiting to be told. What I love most is connecting with people, listening to their journeys (because we all have one), and weaving their personalities into every image. My goal is simple: to create photographs that don’t just document a moment, but truly reflect the heart behind it.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I relocated to the Orlando area nearly four years ago after living in Sarasota, where I was extensively trained in all aspects of beach photography. Since moving, I’ve embraced the unique opportunities Orlando offers, with its emphasis on parks, gardens, barns, and resorts. This shift has allowed me to expand my creative range, and I truly enjoy the diversity and beauty of the photography styles here.
