Today we’d like to introduce you to Jocelyn Gompers
Hi Jocelyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started creating social media content as @Jocelyn.inFlorida that was funny and showed hacks for living in Florida because, as I was growing up in Florida, I completely took it for granted. It was just home, you know? I didn’t really appreciate it until I left. I ended up moving to Hawaii for a couple of years, thinking it would be paradise—and it was amazing—but it made me realize how much I missed Florida. I actually preferred it! That experience really opened my eyes to all the little things I’d overlooked about life here. So, when I came back, I made it my mission to celebrate and share all the fun, quirky, and totally relatable parts of Florida living!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Creating content as @Jocelyn.inFlorida about Florida life hasn’t been easy, but it’s such a rewarding creative outlet for me. I love helping my followers with tips that make life here easier—like money-saving hacks, ways to deal with all the bugs (because, let’s be real, Florida has a lot), and sharing the best spots to visit around the state. It’s something I’m really passionate about, and it makes me so happy to help others enjoy the state I love just as much as I do!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As @Jocelyn.inFlorida I’m all about sharing hacks to help people make the most of living in Florida—like saving money, dealing with all the bugs (because we’ve got plenty!), and finding the best places to explore. But I also love creating funny content, like skits about the quirks of Florida life that my followers can totally relate to. It’s all about laughing at ourselves and just having fun with the unique experience of living here!
Any big plans?
I’m really excited to keep creating the best content as @Jocelyn.inFlorida that I can for my followers—whether it’s helping them navigate Florida life, making them laugh, or sharing relatable moments about living here. I also love helping newcomers get used to the unique quirks of Floridian culture and feel at home. My goal is to connect with more people on social media every day and make their Florida experience as fun and enjoyable as possible.
