Today we’d like to introduce you to Kitty Plesko.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born and raised in Hungary, where my passion for skincare began. Struggling with cystic acne for years, I was constantly searching for solutions, which led me to frequent visits with my esthetician. It was in those moments that I fell in love with the world of esthetics—the transformative power of skincare and the confidence it brings.
At 20, I completed beauty school and began my career working under a master esthetician, Maria, who became a mentor and shaped my foundational skills in facial treatments. With a lifelong dream of living abroad, I took a leap of faith and moved to London, England. Less than a year later, I had the opportunity to open a beauty salon. Despite doubts from others—my limited English skills, the economic recession, and my young age—I trusted my instincts. That decision paid off, and I successfully ran my salon for nearly a decade.
Throughout my career, I remained committed to learning and staying ahead of industry trends. I trained extensively in eyelash extensions, which were just emerging at the time, and attended numerous advanced courses at a beauty academy in Surrey.
At one point, I considered moving to a countryside. However, life had other plans. A chance reconnection with someone from my hometown—now living in Orlando, Florida—changed everything. After months of long conversations and transatlantic visits, we knew we wanted to build a life together. Although I had vowed never to leave my salon, love led me to make another bold move.
Once in the U.S., I worked diligently to obtain my Florida esthetician license. Eventually, I opened a small studio focusing on eyelash extensions, but after becoming a mother, I took a step back to focus on family. Later, I joined a beautiful spa in Winter Springs, where I gained hands-on experience in advanced skincare treatments, including hydrofacials, microneedling, laser hair removal and Morpheus8.
While I loved my time in the medical spa industry, I missed the freedom and creativity of being a business owner. At the beginning of 2025, I took another leap and launched Salon A’dora in Longwood.
My services include hydrofacials, chemical peels, spicule peels, waxing, and eyelash extensions.
Today, I am proud to be an American citizen, a devoted wife, and a mother to my daughter, Dora. My journey has been filled with challenges, risks, and growth, but I am grateful every day to do what I love. Salon A’dora may be new, but with passion, dedication, and a deep commitment to my clients, I believe it will thrive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I wouldn’t say the journey has been completely smooth. Starting a business definitely comes with its share of obstacles. There’s been a learning curve with things like marketing, managing appointments, and balancing the hands-on work with the behind-the-scenes tasks. But every challenge has taught me something valuable. I’ve grown so much professionally and personally, and seeing my clients leave feeling confident and cared for makes it worth it. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s ahead.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Salon A’dora, I focus on personalized skincare and results-driven treatments. I specialize in K-beauty-inspired treatments, which blend relaxation with results, offering clients customized skincare solutions tailored to their unique needs. I believe that skincare is not just about products—it’s a holistic experience.
Facials are my favorite service to perform. I love helping with everything from teen acne to age-corrective treatments. It’s amazing to see the boost in both skin and confidence.
I also recommend simple, effective home care routines using professional korean products to keep results going between visits. Most of my work includes facials, chemical peels, and spicule peels, but I also offer lash extensions and waxing. My goal is to help people feel confident within themselves.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about Longwood is the strong sense of community. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere where people genuinely support one another. It’s also a peaceful, family-friendly place that’s been ideal for both raising my daughter and building my business.
I look forward to welcoming you into my little hidden gem and helping you achieve your skincare goals.
