Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen & Simon Sangary
Kristen & Simon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Simon and I have always been connected through music—it’s been at the heart of our relationship since the very beginning. We met back in 2017 when we were just kids, and even then, music played a huge role in our story. In our first year of dating, Simon wrote me a song, and when we got married, we knew it had to be part of our wedding. It was such a special moment that it sparked something in us.
A couple of years into marriage, we realized how much we loved writing songs that weren’t just for us but for others too. In 2022, we officially started Sungold Creative Co., where we write custom songs based on people’s stories—songs about love, loss, and everything in between. There’s something powerful about putting someone’s emotions into music, and we feel honored every time we get to do it.
Beyond the custom songwriting, we also release our own music as artists under the name SUNGOLD—a name that reflects where we’re from. I’m from California (the Golden State), and Simon is from Florida (the Sunshine State), so together, we’re SUNGOLD.
Simon is also a producer for dozens of artists. He brings so much depth and creativity into every project, whether it’s producing for others or working on our own music.
We’re in a season of growth, both creatively and personally. We have new music on the way as SUNGOLD, and we’re continuing to take on more custom song clients. Long-term, we want to expand Sungold Creative Co. into something even bigger—a space where artists can come to create, develop their sound, and bring their vision to life.
At the end of the day, our love for music is fueled by our love for God and each other. That’s what keeps us going, and we’re excited for everything that’s ahead.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Pursuing a creative dream isn’t always easy. There have been moments where we questioned if we should keep going or try something else. At one point, we even stepped away to do other jobs, just trying to figure out our life and what we were supposed to do. That season was a huge learning experience for us. It gave us clarity and made us realize that music isn’t just something we love—it’s a non-negotiable part of our lives.
Looking back, we’re so grateful for that time because it strengthened our trust in God. Even when we don’t fully understand what’s ahead or how things will work out, we know that our lives are in His hands. He’s carried us this far, opening doors we never expected and allowing us to be part of projects that didn’t even make sense. We feel incredibly blessed to be able to do this together, and that perspective keeps us moving forward no matter what challenges come our way.

At Sungold Creative Co., we create music that tells a story. We specialize in custom songwriting, taking real-life experiences—whether love, loss, or celebration—and turning them into something tangible and timeless. Beyond that, we release our own music as SUNGOLD, blending elements of pop, indie, and cinematic sounds with heartfelt, honest lyrics.
Simon is an incredibly talented producer and mix engineer, working with a wide range of artists across different genres. His ability to bring a song to life, whether through production or live sound, is something truly special.
What sets us apart is our deep connection to storytelling and emotion. Every song we write—whether for ourselves or a client—comes from a real, meaningful place. We don’t just create music for the sake of it; we create with intention. We’re also a husband-and-wife team, which adds another layer of depth to our work. Music has been woven into our love story from the very beginning, and that personal connection shapes everything we do.
One of the things we’re most proud of is the impact our songs have had on people. Seeing someone moved to tears because we captured their story in a way they never could have expressed themselves—that’s why we do this. We’re grateful every day that we get to turn our passion into something that matters.
