Life & Work with Kristen Warren of Melbourne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Warren

Hi Kristen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been singing for audiences since the age of 7 years old. I have always been drawn to melodies sounds and the written word. It’s funny looking back on my childhood because I realize all the times I was being influenced by the music my parents played in the house books that were read to me. A lot of the signs were there that I would eventually you can grab to be a singer and songwriter.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would argue that no artist has a smooth road. But I’ve also learned that struggle is necessary. Without struggle you can’t create art that people relate to. I’ve dealt with my share of discouragement from strangers and those close to me. As an artist you have to be your own cheerleader even when you feel that your work isnt recognized or appreciated.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I sing Jazz and neo soul. I am known for my unique vocal tone and lyricism. I am also known for my stand-up comedy style banter on stage. I love connecting with my audiences and I think that’s what makes each show very special. I’m also proud of the fact that my craft has allowed me to travel to many places to share my original music. (London NY Nashville Atlanta and all over FL)

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck because I have none. Lol. I believe in blessings because I have many.
