Life & Work with Lashanda Bennett of Apopka

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lashanda Bennett.

Hi Lashanda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
🌸 I have always been very creative/artistic and loved flowers, just never thought I would end up owning my own floral shop. From working as a florist to being pushed to become my very own business owner is how it all started. I knew then that I didnt just want to work with flowers but i wanted to find a way to give back to the community through my business especially the youth while serving and providing such a beautiful craft of floral work. For years, I asked myself: How can I truly impact the youth and empower them for

success beyond grade school?

That question stayed with me — through every pivot, pause, and prayer.

What started as Majestic Flowers & Bloom is now growing into something so much more.

We’re no longer just a flower company — we’re a movement rooted in mentorship, creativity, and purpose.

Our mission?

To help youth — especially at-risk and underserved teens — gain real business experience,

earn income, and develop the confidence they need to thrive.

💐 Teens in our program co-create special flower-themed gift packages, bringing their unique

style and ideas to life.

💵 They earn a percentage of each sale, learning valuable business and life skills along the

way.

🎨 They’re also encouraged to explore creative expression through design, content, and

branding — building not just products, but pride.

🌿 Our Vision:

We believe every teen deserves more than textbooks.

They deserve income, confidence, and direction.

Majestic Flowers and Blooms blends business, purpose, and belief in their potential to give them just that.

Every bouquet you send helps plant a seed.

Whether you’re a customer, a corporate sponsor, or a community advocate — your support

directly impacts the future of our youth

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has indeed had it’s ups and downs. Not really knowing much about running a business yet determined to learn. I have found myself depleting my savings all for the sake of my business and not knowing who to ask for help or if I could even ask for help. I just knew I needed to purchase flowers and supplies to fill the orders while I allow my creativity to do the work because all I saw at the end was my vision to help the youth.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design floral arrangements. Whether silk or fresh flowers, large or small, for happy and sad occasions including large events. What i am most proud of is my skill was not a taught skill but yet a skill/craft is was gifted with. I didn’t go to school or take up a class for this it just came naturally and I feel in love with what I do. What sets me a part is im using my business to be able to provide and teach our youth the skill and craft totally free through my program while they get positive mentorship and education on how to start and build their very own creative business of their choice. They will all receive free hands on training, knowledge and branding education.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was cooking in the kitchen with my grandmother, making many different crafts and drawing.
