Life & Work with Lourdes Iset Rodriguez of Kissimmee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lourdes Iset Rodriguez.

Hi Lourdes Iset, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Le Lo Lai was born from a desire God placed on my heart—to create something rooted in culture, family, and faith. As a woman grounded in my Puerto Rican heritage, a wife, and a mom of three young girls, I felt called to build something that would not only honor where I come from, but also reflect God’s goodness and purpose in my life. I envisioned a space that would carry the warmth of our traditions while creating moments of joy, connection, and a quiet reminder of His love.

From the beginning, I knew this was more than just a coffee bar. Le Lo Lai would be a space where people could feel seen, celebrated, and uplifted. Coffee has always been part of our culture—not just something we drink, but something we gather around. I wanted every cup to be an invitation to slow down, share stories, and experience a taste of the island—both its flavor and its spirit.

Faith has been at the center of this journey, especially through the challenges. In January, my dad suffered a stroke. It was one of the hardest seasons we’ve walked through as a family. But even in that, God was working. My dad began joining me at Le Lo Lai, helping out however he could. It’s become a part of his healing and restoration—giving him purpose and bringing us even closer. His presence at the cart is a testimony of God’s grace and a reminder that beauty can rise even from broken places.

Le Lo Lai is my offering—a blend of faith, culture, creativity, and love. It’s a mobile coffee bar, yes, but it’s also a living story of God’s faithfulness. I’m incredibly grateful for every person who has been part of this journey and every opportunity we get to share a little bit of joy, one cup at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road—but every bump has taught me something valuable. Starting Le Lo Lai came with a lot of unknowns. I didn’t come from a business background, so I had to learn everything from the ground up—licensing, permits, equipment, marketing, building a brand, and managing a business while being a mom to three little girls. Balancing it all was (and still is) a challenge.

There were times I questioned if I was in over my head—especially when facing things like weather cancellations, mechanical issues with the cart, or slow markets. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of problem-solving, praying, and pushing through even when things don’t go as planned.

The biggest challenge, though, came when my dad had a stroke in January. It shook everything—personally and logistically. But even that became part of the testimony. Instead of stepping back, I leaned in. Having him work alongside me has been a gift I didn’t expect, and it’s reminded me that sometimes challenges make space for unexpected blessings.

This journey has stretched my faith, patience, and resilience. But through it all, I’ve seen God provide—through community, through open doors, and through quiet reminders that this dream has purpose.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We specialize in espresso drinks, cold brew, house-made lemonades, and signature items like our creamy café con leche and passionfruit lemonade with fresh mint.

We’re known for bringing vibrant energy, music, and hospitality that feels like home. Every drink is crafted with love, and we often infuse our menu with tropical flavors you won’t find at a typical coffee cart.

What sets us apart is the experience—we serve with joy, island flavor, and a message of faith. From our colorful setup to the conversations we spark, it’s more than a cup of coffee—it’s a cultural moment.

What I’m most proud of is how Le Lo Lai has become a reflection of God’s faithfulness and purpose.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me—both in business and personal life—is authenticity and connection.

In business, especially with Le Lo Lai, it’s about creating genuine relationships with our customers and community. We want every cup of coffee to bring a little warmth, culture, and joy, making people feel seen and valued. Authenticity in our flavors and service builds trust and loyalty that lasts beyond just a transaction.

In personal life, it’s about being true to myself and nurturing meaningful connections with family and friends. Those relationships ground me and remind me why I do what I do—to share love, culture, and support with others.

At the heart of both is the belief that real connection creates impact, purpose, and fulfillment. That’s what drives me every day.
