Hi Ludy, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Pastor Ludivina López De Victoria, often known by her childhood nickname Ludy, was born on August 30, 1969 in Dorado, Puerto Rico to Senior Pastors Juan A. López and Nereida Gonzale. The Bishop of the Oriental Council of the Church of God, Bishop Demps Overcash, became her mentor, giving her the opportunity to assist him by working with the women’s and youth ministries. By 2001, the next post was in Virginia Beach, VA. During this time, Rock Church International of Virginia Beach became a part of Pastor Ludy López’s preparation for her calling. Bishop John Gimenez and Pastor Anne Gimenez were of great influence in her ministerial formation. In “Rock Church” Pastor Ludy Lopez De Victoria served as part of the leadership for the “Planet Rock” youth.

On September 22, 2006, Pastor Ludy Lopez De Victoria began to pastor the church her parents had founded in Puerto Rico.

The ministry of Apostle Ludy López has characterized itself for its integrity, authority, prophetic word, and passion for God and his people; an international ministry who by the grace of God has reached Japan, Mexico, Canada, Honduras, Cuba, Nicaragua, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the United States. She was a former CDA license Early Childhood teacher in the cities of Mount Dora and Eustis, FL. In the year 2022, she became a former Lake County School Board candidate, being the first native Hispanic running for this office in Lake County. She is a successful entrepreneur and author of the first book “Through Mary’s Eyes”, Principles and Seasons that Sustain a vision.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely it has not been a smooth road. I have 2 divorces. The first divorce was after 21 years of marriage due to infidelity from the father of my daughters. The second divorce was one month later for domestic violence. He was represented by his lawyer in court and I represented myself. I won the case and I have an injunction against him.
In 2022, I have a terrible car accident where I ended up with brain and back damages. In 2024 I suffered a fall and broke my ankle and fibula. After surgery I spent 6 months in a wheelchair and I was left with permanent neurological damage on my right foot.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Senior Pastor of a bilingual and multicultural church. I am known for my public service, love for people and animals, specifically for dogs. In Puerto Rico, I was an animal advocate and rescued dogs and cats from the streets of PR. When I moved to FL in 2014, I brought my 7 rescued dogs and 2 cats with me with the help of my 2 daughters. We rented a house back then and paid rent for every single one of them. From the 9 rescued animals we brought, there is still one alive. He is 16 years old snazzier mixed .

My two daughters are my greatest pride. My oldest Naomi, is the Video production Director of Lake Sumter State College. My youngest one Nalani, is a Deputy Sheriff in Polk County.

According to people, I am loving, forgiving, trustworthy and passionate about serving others.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see our Senda Church, institution that I founded and pastor, as a major influence of faith and hope in our Lake County and becoming one of the largest churches in the County. I see us growing in international networks, becoming a resource as ministerial training center and place of restoration for people that are struggling in life.
I see the shift in young leadership raising up in our church and leading with character and passion.
