Hi Marialba, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
More than 20 years ago, a very dear cousin introduced me to this art of creating handmade jewelry in my country, Venezuela! Today I live in this country starting from scratch with my business, and Tenuta is going for its 4th anniversary every day, innovating in my handmade pieces with a mixture of textures and materials.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy like any undertaking; you have to be constant and have an objective… Undertaking something innovative takes time.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in designing unique pieces… Maxi tendrils, Maxi Chokers, I mix a wide variety of materials, plated pieces, metals, vegetable leathers, and threads of different Categories.
Tenuta makes a difference because its pieces are unique; one or another piece is worked in series… I love what I do and make the most of the gift that GOD put in my hands…
Who else deserves credit for your story?
My family is the one that gets the credit; their support has been unconditional… My husband always supporting me and giving me his words of encouragement so that I don’t give up, my daughter Martina because she is always with me in everything, and thanks to my cousin Ana for helping me awaken that creativity in me.
