Life & Work with Markeon Edwards

Today we’d like to introduce you to Markeon Edwards.

Hi Markeon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started from a place of not knowing what my passion was. A place where I was longing for answers and on a journey to find them. Before I graduated high school. I had a dream of working with kids. Therefore, I wanted to become a pediatrician because they were focused on children.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When you walk by faith and not by sight, the road will never be smooth but it’ll be worth it. Some of my struggles along the way were: overcoming the worry of the unknown.

What I mean by that is, you have allowed yourself to know everything will be okay even you don’t know for sure that it will. You have to break free from always wanting the answers and put your trust in the one who has the answers: God.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
If you spoke to the people I’m most close with, they’d tell you I’m well gifted in many areas.

I am a Photographer, Videographer, Creative Director, Producer, Writer, Director, Influencer, Model, and a Motivational Speaker. I specialize in bringing light(s) to dark places no matter what my title is. My ability to see you at your best even when you don’t feel you’re enough, my ability to call out your wrongs so we can make them right, the ability to give you life when you feel like you are dead, my ability to save lives with my words, is what I’m most proud of.

What sets me apart from others? It’s simple, my energy. It was a very cliche in the 20th century but energy speaks louder than words.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was growing up without social media.

Not having social media as a major influence allowed me to connect with other kids, it allowed me to be a kid and not have to worry about what to post or who’s posting, it allowed me actual eat out with friends and have a conversion with the ones I’m with instead wasting the time I have with them on social media. We have to get back to enjoying our company while we’re in their presence.

You miss so much of a person when you’re always on your phone instead of engaging with those that are in your environment. Social is a great tool but that doesn’t mean you have to neglect your human interactions because you feel like your going to miss something.
