Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlyn Barreto.
Hi Marlyn, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am from Venezuela. I came to USA in 2016. I am married and I have two kids. Diego and Isabella My first job was cleaning houses, hotels and offices. And then uber and leaf. In 2018, I started working on a sewing business as a manager.
In that moment, I did not have intention of being a sewer. In March of 2020, I lost my job cause of the pandemic. A lots of clients call me for sewing service and in that moment with my mom, I decided to offer sewing purposes in my house.
Motivated of my customers, I started looking the possibility to find a place for my business.
The first of June 2020, I rented a small space. I was scared but I had a lot of faith and hope.
A year and a half after, I had a space much bigger.
Now we’re not only my mom and I but we are a big family with a team much bigger and much more service to offer.
I am thankful with god specially, my husband, my kids, my mom who is my partner and every people, customer, friend who helped me grow my small business.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Started from zero a little of customers.
My English is not good.

I specialize in alterations and repair for clothes. People know me for best quality and service.
I am proud of me for being a brave woman and motivation for other people.
Helping people is my skill.
How do you define success?
Health, family, love and a job that you like not just for money.
