Hi Megaloceros, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started Megaloceros in 2022 as four friends with a shared passion for rock and the need to express everything we had bottled up for years. Each of us had been involved in different musical projects before, but this time we wanted to create something raw, honest, and powerful — music that reflects real emotions like anxiety, anger, and introspection.
We began rehearsing in a small room in Orlando, Florida, recording ideas late at night and shaping our own sound that mixes heavy riffs with melodic depth — something reminiscent of 90s grunge but with a modern edge. Since then, we’ve released an EP, several singles, and a music video, and now we’re working on our first full-length album, Mindcage, which dives deep into mental struggles and inner chaos.
It’s been a journey of growth, self-discovery, and perseverance. We’re still independent, but every show, every song, and every connection with the audience reminds us why we started this band — to make people feel something real.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — but that’s part of what makes it meaningful. Like most independent bands, we’ve faced a lot of challenges: balancing full-time jobs and family responsibilities while trying to make music, dealing with limited budgets for recording or touring, and learning how to navigate the industry without a major label behind us.
On a deeper level, some of our songs come from very personal struggles — mental health, loss, frustration — so writing and performing them can be emotionally heavy, but also healing. Those moments of chaos and uncertainty have shaped who we are as a band.
We’ve learned to see every obstacle as a way to grow stronger and more united. The fact that we’re still here, still making music together, is proof that passion can overcome a lot of noise and doubt.

Megaloceros is a rock band that blends the darkness of 90s grunge with the intensity of modern alternative metal. Our music dives deep into the human mind — exploring depression, guilt, and emotional chaos — but always with a sense of honesty and reflection. We don’t just write songs; we tell stories about real struggles that many people try to hide.
What sets us apart is our balance between heaviness and melody. We love creating songs that feel raw and aggressive, but still carry a strong emotional core and thoughtful lyrics. Every riff, every vocal line, every drum hit has a purpose.
We’re most proud of the fact that we’ve built everything from scratch — from recording and producing our first EP and music videos to managing our own shows and growing an audience organically. There’s something special about knowing that every step forward has been earned with passion, teamwork, and authenticity.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The best mentorship doesn’t come from the most famous people, but from those who are just one or two stages ahead of you, successfully navigating the business. For Megaloceros, the key has been community and reciprocity.
Instead of asking for favors, we offer value first and focus on ‘micro-networking’: collaborating with local bands, maintaining a reputation for professionalism backstage, and simply being reliable. The best opportunities always grow organically from people who genuinely respect your work, not from cold outreach.
