Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Cortez
Hi Melissa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve lived around central Florida most of my life and I grew up going to all of the theme parks. Some of my fondest memories of our trips were all of the fun snacks in the parks. I loved how they would take an everyday food and turn it into something so fun and magical. As I got older, I kept going to the parks and I decided to share some of my treats on social media so other friends and family could see what the parks had to offer to eat. In 2019, one of the big theme parks contacted me for some media events and I was thrilled!! I spent the next few years attending some of those events, feeling so lucky to have been given that opportunity and sharing all of it with my followers. It really built a huge online theme park community for my page and I will always be grateful for that chance.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As a creator, everything sort of ebbs and flows. Your popularity can skyrocket or you can fall off the map in an instant, so to speak, and that’s usually based on the amount of content you create. Sometimes it can be a struggle finding the time to go and try all the different spots that I want to try then post about. Luckily, my family is very supportive and helpful. Not only that, they love to try the variety of foods as much as I do! I’ve found that as long as you keep it real and genuine, people like you for you. I still have a lot of the original followers from day one and they still check in from time to time.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Hi y’all! I’m Melissa, the creator behind That Magical Foodie, a unique foodie and personal blog. I started this page to share my love and appreciation of all things food!
To me, food is magic. It can bring about so many different feelings and emotions that differ from person to person. I’m always excited to try the next place and share it with all my amazing followers. I’ve also come to enjoy sharing little bits and bites of my life outside of food as well. I’m always down for an adventure and will absolutely always travel for food!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Recently, I’ve loved switching gears to more of the local, small town eatery’s that have so much love and community to share. It’s become something new that I love to do and participate in. Getting the opportunity to attend so many different events, to share all of the fun and wonderful treats that I’ve tasted with everyone out there, and getting so much love in return makes me feel like I’ve had extremely great luck!
