Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Blau.
Hi Morgan , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
To save money, I bought and arranged flowers for my wedding in 2021 and fell in love with flower arranging. My husband and I started gardening in 2022 in a few raised beds and grew various vegetables and a couple of zinnia varieties. The next two years we added more raised beds and grew more flowers while reducing the amount of veggies, until finally in the fall of 2024, we were growing only flowers. Trevor and I agreed we could turn this hobby into a legitimate business, bought six acres of former citrus grove in Umatilla in January of this year, and started planting summer flowers shortly thereafter. We began selling seed starts at the Ocala Downtown Farmer’s market in February, and now attend markets in Eustis as well as supply flowers for several wedding florists across Central Florida.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So far, the only obstacles we’ve faced have been easy to overcome and haven’t slowed us down.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re an organically grown flower farm providing locally grown flowers to the Central Florida community. We love seeing our flowers both in wedding and event design as well as to other locals directly.
