Life & Work with Nathali Nostades

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathali Nostades.

Hi Nathali, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my fitness journey back when I was in middle school, I was very skinny and didn’t like how I looked. After the year ending, I decided to start working out in the summer before I started my high school year. I used to just work out until I decided to take my career a bit more serious, so before transforming my body into a better me!

My mother was on her journey too, so we decided to look at cds for working out and there was a man who was called Shaun T who created workout dvds for anyone who wants to transform their body, we bought all his dvd’s and they were called “Hip Hop Abs ” from there I stood consistent and fell involve with the results! As I got older by the age of 17, I took a class to get my certificate for personal training because falling involved with your body is one thing but doing it for you and wanting to help others believe there is a purpose to working out is a gift. After going through the process, I decided to expand myself more so I moved to California to make my goal serious, ever since than I am full-time personal trainer about to drop my workout app very soon and pushing myself and being able to leave Florida at the age of 18 by yourself to make a dream into a reality, and I’m grateful that I took a big leap of faith for myself because fear is a factor in life that will stop you from being where you want to be!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success is never smooth. It was honestly a mission for me because moving to a new state and not knowing anyone but through social media was a bit hard, so learning to socialize and to network to promote yourself because your the brand of it all! I didn’t have a lot of support back home especially from my loved ones. They didn’t see my vision, it was hard for me to build me when I didn’t have any love or moral support in a new state. I was alone for four years finding who I was, I had my downfalls where I asked myself what I was doing. Life gives you lemons but theirs always a rainbow after the rain. The moments of my life where I didn’t know how to go or where to start, I had lost everything even I was homeless living on the floor in California because the lack of knowledge I didn’t have from being my own brand, I decided to go to UCLA and do research and learn more about nutrition and training. Creating a name for myself. The best feeling was knowing it’s a mindset thing all along; you just have to get your head out of the gutter!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an entrepreneur, I do a variety of things but the most thing I love is my job which is modeling, chef, singing and training clients! I started off singing when I was eight years old. As I started getting older, my parents flew me to Cuba for family orientation but my mother believed in my voice, so she made some ropes to make my dream come true and that was singing in front of a whole stadium in Cuba. Ever since coming back to the United States, I started to fall in love with other hobbies but it wasn’t as much love I have for personal training and modeling. As I started to get older by the age of 15, I started to model and I loved every aspect of it. But for personal training that is what I’m best at. I took my time out of the years to study, research and understand on being a trainer, going into your craft I fell so deep into, it help me a lot because being a chef for four years helps me help others on your diets and meal preps, so it came in handy for me. My proudest moments are being on subway and still able to be seen myself on subway till this day and my certificates and able to live through another day that I’m where I am now. Nothing sets me apart from anything because everyone is their own different person like me, I don’t compare myself from others because there is always a story behind every person you encounter.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up wasn’t so easy for me, my parents worked very hard to get me the best home, best School all of it and they did, but what I went through with my family was form of hurt and looking for a type of love I wanted but couldn’t get really, as a little girl I was always laughing, doing something I wasn’t supposed to, I am very outgoing. I would always love to go and try new things, I couldn’t be placed in a room and just not do nothing. My mindset was on go for some reason, I started to see I was getting into some many hobbies when I was little, I love painting, drawing, working out. I wanted to try out everything because growing up people told me focus one thing because you may not be good at it. But how can you not be good if you never try so basically I was that. one girl who didn’t give up on trying and achieving. I am go getter, all I ever had was my music and my voice. Friends betrayed me as I got older, so I was very alone in my high school days.
