Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Difinizio.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Nicole, I was originally born and raised in Brooklyn New York. Recently in 2021, my Fiance and I moved out of our hometown and made the move to Florida. We are located in the Clermont Area, about 30 minutes from Orlando. Since moving to the Orlando area, I have been trying to visit and showcase local businesses, activities and towns in the greater Orlando region. Coming from a big city, you can sometimes get lost in the fast paced hustle and bustle of everything around you, and forget to experience the small things and places all around you. I have enjoyed the beautiful nature, history and community feel that I have experienced so far since moving here.
Growing up, I always had a creative mindset. At a young age, I was classically trained in piano as well as singing and I continued that art throughout my childhood. While I don’t perform professionally today, I do still brush up on my skills at home. I have always had several interests and found it difficult to just pick one and base a job or career around that. Over the last 10 years, I have had many start up experiences from a T-shirt and apparel online store, an online fashion boutique, an online candle store where I made fresh homemade candles to order, and a food blog with my Fiance. I am now tying all that together, taking all of my interests into one lifestyle channel, sharing mainly through Instagram right now.
Since moving to Florida, I have been focusing on my social media presence and sharing my daily experiences in around the area. I share local businesses, coffee shops and restaurants. We go to several beautiful local parks and lakes to experience nature and the local wildlife. With so many people moving to Florida and the Orlando area, there is a big demand for people to see what this region of Florida has to offer, outside of the usual tourist areas and theme parks. People are now looking to live here and not just visit, and they want to know what there is to do and see on a daily basis in their local neighborhoods. I also aim to share realistic and positive posts about fashion and beauty. I love to share outfits, brands and collections that are affordable and can be worn on a daily basis. I have been working closely with 310 Nutrition, a clean healthy meal replacement company and Parade, a body positive clothing and underwear brand.
In the near future, I hope to travel more, especially around the entire state of Florida, showcasing the many beautiful and amazing places that are within just a few hours drive from the Orlando area. I aim to inspire my following to do what makes you happy, go to places that you have always desired, and to get out of your comfort zone and experience new things.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the main obstacles that I have faced would be people not believing in me and trying to influence me to go in directions that I did not want too. I feel like this is a common feeling for a lot of young people getting out of high school or getting into college and trying to figure out exactly what you want to do with your future. You may have family and friends leaning you to one direction, your teacher or co worker leaning you to another and its hard sometimes to get passed that and go follow after what you really want.
Another issue I have faced especially in this social media age would be comparing myself to other people that you see online. We have to remember that everyone is on a different timeline and just because someone has achieved a goal or has something you may want, that you shouldn’t be discouraged. Your time will come, and remember everything seen on social media isn’t always what it seems to be. Try not compare yourself to others, the definition of success is up to interpretation and means something different to everyone.
Blocking out negativity is always a challenge as well, whether that comes from people’s energy, current events and even social media. We are constantly surrounded by negative news, images and stories. It definitely gets me down sometimes and I have to push through and remember that I can’t let that stop me from doing what I need to do, and what I want to achieve.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Right now I am specializing in hyper local things to do and see in the Orlando area, especially West Orlando in the Clermont/Winter Garden area where a lot of people are currently moving into too. When I see a new food location or business has opened nearby, I can visit and document my experience through photos and video posts. I also like to get to know the local business owners and get some background on their story as well and how their dream became a reality. This content can get the business potentially hundreds and thousands of new potential visitors and customers that may have not otherwise known about it.
I am also showcasing my daily fashion and beauty outfits and routines. I want to share and normalize wearing and using products that anyone can get from everyday stores such as Target, Abercrombie, Forever 21 and Amazon on any budget.
I am most proud of myself for following my heart and doing what makes me happy no matter what was trying to stop me. I believe my good heart, intentions and confidence sets me apart from others.
What makes you happy?
What makes me most happy is making meaningful and lasting memories with the people closest to me. Exploring new places, eating delicious food and meeting new people. With my background, music definitely makes me happy along with art and culture exhibits.
I love expressing myself through my content, fashion and photography. Spreading positivity out in the world and inspiring others is a joy for me. With everything going on in the world right now, we could all use some inspiration and positivity.
