Life & Work with Nileah Bailey

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nileah Bailey.

Hi Nileah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
At 12, I discovered that I was passionate about film production. Attending my old middle school, I took courses such as video production and a news crew. In 2015 at the age of 15, I decided to create my very first music video and won first place prize at the Central Florida Music Awards for Best Music Video Award. At ages 16-18, I started to get serious in the arts by being in dance, musical theater, and also modeling. Once I graduated from high school in 2019, I decided I needed to take a break and figure out what I wanted to do with my life. In the year 2020, my mom and I decided to tour the campus of Full Sail University, and in the summer of 2020, I decided to attend Full Sail University, majoring in film. When I was younger, I was always in front of the cameras and wanted to work hands-on behind the cameras. While taking classes, I was creating and building my portfolio, seeing the works, and educating myself on how to perfect my work. In 2021 I was creating content and perfecting them but decided to wait to launch them. Fast forward to 2022, I decided to launch my photography business, NileahBee Visuals, on my 22nd birthday, October 25th, 2022, at 2:22 pm. While taking a break from school, I decided to focus more on my business and well-being. As my business continues to grow, I am incredibly excited and thankful for The Cut, located in Orlando, Florida, for partnering with me in their space, as I currently use it for my studio.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running your own business has its pros and cons. But remaining positive is top-tier and a must in my category. Being a young black female with a photography business in Orlando can be tough, but standing my ground, knowing exactly what I want, and knowing the passion I have is knocking me down.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do? What do you do, and what do you specialize in?
I do film production; I write, edit, direct, post-production, pre-production, and photograph; honestly, I do anything in the film industry.

What are you known for, etc.?
I am known for my hard-working photography, pictures, and editing skills.

What are you most proud of?
I am proud of being a Caribbean woman in the film industry, studying film, and being the CEO of my company, all at the age of 22.

What sets you apart from others?
Just be me and ensure my clients get celebrity treatment when booking with me.
