Life & Work with Pompano Peezy & Lala Chanel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pompano Peezy & Lala Chanel.

Pompano & Lala, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We both were individual artists on an independent label. We did a collaboration and won internet’s best talent with our feature together. After that, everyone pretty much assumed we was a group, so we started working on our music together to become what we are known as now “A Duo.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There’s always obstacles in the music field. One of the struggles is we are doing something that hasn’t been done or seen in a long time as far as being a male/female duo.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are artists that specialize in the Trap/Rock Genre. We have accomplished so much that we are proud of, and we are just starting. We have a distribution contract with Empire Records through our own music label “Dreamsqaud Records.” We are known for our live shows that give high energy and aggressive vibes, but we also can give melodic chill vibes. We have done major shows 7k plus people. Shows include Big Sean, Kesha, Waka Flocka, and more. One of our proudest moments was headlining South Padre Island Spring Break last year. What sets us apart from others is that we are the only male/female duo that releases music together as a group.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Artists is the new lick. A lot of the indie market is a gimmick. You have to focus on your core fans and let the industry come to you. That’s also the advice we would have given ourselves. It would have saved us a lot of money
