Life & Work with Ramon Trinidad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Trinidad.

Hi Ramon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
During the summer of 2020, I wasn’t working so I had a lot of time on my hands. I ended up baking cookies from scratch for the first time for a family bbq and I was surprised by how great they came out. I really liked baking so I decided to start a small cottage food business selling the cookies to make some extra money. I got a lot of support from the local community and things just kept improving from there. We’re really a family business – my youngest daughter actually named our company! My daughters help me bake and help out at our pop-up shops, and my wife works on our website and social media account. It’s really brought us all together and helped us teach our daughters what it takes to own and run your own business!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been a smooth road for us. It’s difficult to balance my full-time job and this business. I prep before I go to work and bake and do deliveries when I get home. Sometimes I’m working 12-hour days between my full-time job and the cookie business – and that doesn’t include coaching my daughter’s soccer practice! At the end of the day, I love what I do, so I wouldn’t change a thing!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The best thing about our products is they’re homemade and traditional. There’s no gimmick. We’re not the biggest cookie you’ve had and we don’t have any super crazy flavors or designs. Instead, we pride ourselves on providing a cookie that brings you back to a simpler time when things weren’t so complicated. We’re something you can count on, and we’ve got something for everyone! There’s nothing better than cozying up on the sofa after a long week with a box of fresh cookies, your family, and a good movie. That’s what we want to bring to the world!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
If I’m being honest, I didn’t have the best childhood. I grew up in foster care and was adopted when I turned 12. Despite everything, I was always very outgoing so I played soccer and made lots of friends. It kept me busy and out of trouble. My wife and I met in high school and that’s when my life changed for the better. We welcomed our first baby girl 3 months before our high school graduation and I was finally able to form a family I’d never had. Family and fatherhood is the most important thing in my life and I’m thankful for everything I went through because it got me to where I am today – a husband to my high school sweetheart and father to two beautiful girls!
