Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruth Eveillard
Hi Ruth, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My name is Ruth Eveillard and I’m an 19-year-old Haitian American born and raised from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I’m currently based in Clermont, Florida but travel in the Central Florida area. As a Sophomore in high school, I noticed my English teacher had a pile of cameras on her desk. I was curious on the use for these cameras and she told me if I was interested I should join yearbook class next year. I started taking pictures when I picked up my camera and attended my first football game in 2022. I haven’t looked back since then. Since then, I have done numerous of sports, internships/sport management positions, and my business continues to thrive!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not! There have been times where I wanted to quit. Specifically in the beginning of my journey for photography, I wasn’t sure if the business was cut out for me. At that time, I was’t pulling in a lot of clients as well so it made me feel disappointed in myself. Luckily, I had a great support system from my family and close friends that push started my business and helped me reach out to more people in my community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I do photography and social media! I’m an all-around photographer, but I mostly specialize in sports. The sport I would say I’m known the most for is basketball. I’m proud of all the photos I’ve taken so far but by far it would have to be my high school basketball photos for East Ridge. Just the depth of my vision and being allowed to be as creative as I could be in terms of social media ideas was really fun. I also think a perspective people can get from my photos is the emotion aspect. I love being able to show that sports is just more than throwing a ball but how people can make connections and grow as a family.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising that most people might not about my work or brand is that I travel for work a lot! I am willing to travel around the Central Florida area for my business and to take photos!
