Life & Work with Samantha Jimenez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Jimenez.

Hi Samantha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In my last year of college at UCF finishing my finance degree, I looked for a part-time job until I graduated. My sister-in-law and her husband own a property management company, and they were looking for a leasing coordinator. It was perfect timing! I was their leasing coordinator for some time, and they then recommended I get my real estate license, which I figured why not take the opportunity. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree but stayed in real estate and never looked back! In 2016 I became a realtor and worked as the leasing coordinator and then office accountant with my sister-in-law’s management company- Rental and Realty Group. In 2019 I decided to go from my Broker’s license, and in 2020, I opened my Brokerage-SIJ Realty. After two years, it was challenging to do everything myself with minimal progression; I decided to close my Brokerage and join Compass. My sister-in-Law-Luana Leventhal joined compass about a year prior and told me all the great things about Compass and how she left her brokerage for this great opportunity. In January 2022, I joined her team with Compass and have been very happy and see myself progressing and elevating my real estate career.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I remember my first year after getting my real estate license. It was a rough start for me. I didn’t know if I had made the right decision to stay in real estate and not pursue a career in finance. In my first few years, I always had difficult transactions but was happy because I learned so much from each transaction that has helped me become a problem solver, a quick learner, and just making it happen. When I opened my brokerage, I started over, and the same when I closed my brokerage and joined Compass, I also started over. I do not regret the decisions I made because I learned from each one and learned how to adapt, evolve and do better.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a real estate agent in the Central Florida area. I specialize in residential real estate and work with first-time homebuyers and investors. I have experience in long-term and short-term/vacation rental property management. I’m most proud of my progress and the knowledge I have gone through in the last six years.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think the significant shift will be in the real estate market. So much has changed in the last two years in the real estate market; just be prepared for the changes and adapt to help my current, past, and new clients.
