Hi Shayla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my business when I decided to throw my son a Luau for his birthday. Coordinating the colors, seeking a venue, and creating DIY centerpieces gave me a rush! When it all came together, it was a Masterpiece. Then is where I had an epiphany and I discovered my passion. Whether I’m planning a surprise birthday party or setting a unique scene for a photoshoot backdrop, I always create a vibe to remember.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
As an event planner, I’ve overcome many obstacles. However, I’ve found one of my biggest hurdles has been experiencing clients that has expectations that exceed their budget. In fact, I pride myself on empathizing with individuals of different walks of life and economical platforms. However, I’ve had to retreat details and decor due to cost. Moving forward, I created customized packages, that accommodate any budget.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known as “The Concept Queen” because I possess the ability to create an atmosphere for any event, that aligns with my client’s personal style. I specialize in luxury decor. I am most proud of how far I’ve come with my decorating skills. I keep up with trends and new techniques to ensure my decor is up to par and my clients are satisfied. While doing so, I maintain ingenuity and originality.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
My motto is “Set the Scene/Create the Vibe”. I take my work very seriously. Anyone who knows me will describe my work as obsessive! It’s imperative to be innovative and patient in this industry. There are so many creative event planners that I admire. My intent is to stay focused and spread positivity. I thank God for growth, for he is the reason I am here today.
