Hi Sylvia, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started MADDMACCREATIONS LLC because I wanted to be able to create and do something from home. I had tried many different direct sales-type businesses and none of them felt like me.
One day, I came across one that was crafting and was talking to a friend about it and she was like no try this!! From there, I have just added and doing more things. I have finally started doing farmers’ markets and other events. Fingers crossed that 2022 is the year I can make this full-time!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I want to say the hardest aspect is the financial part of it because I had no real plan, I just jumped all in. The other would be just putting myself out there 100% and being unapologetically myself. Not worrying about everyone else.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
So I like to call myself a Jack of all trades! I do hand-painted signs and door hangers, paint parties, paint kits, jumbo cookies, mini bundt cakes, cookie dippers, hand-painted wine glasses and mugs, resin art, bath bombs, and such and so much more.
I really just like to create. Wherever that takes me, is where I go with it. I want to say my jumbo cookies are the spotlight item because of how huge they are!
What matters most to you?
Being there for my family. Part of all of this is for my daughters. They are 14 and 11 and this is something I get to share with them. They are part of my creative team. They help pick out what to make and they are my taste testers!
One day, it would be really cool to have them working beside me and expanding all of this. We are still in the beginning stages of everything. I want them to have this there if this is what they want.
