Today we’d like to introduce you to Tayrin Branum
Hi Tayrin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2021, I took a leap of faith and enrolled in esthetician school. Skincare has always been a significant part of my life since childhood, so it just made sense to turn my passion into a career. I wanted to help others discover a new dimension of self-care that they might not have explored yet. After gaining some experience working from home, I sought to join a brand that shared my commitment to health and wellness. This journey led me to become the esthetician at VitaLuxx IV Lounge & Med Spa, owned by RN Britney Thompson, where we are dedicated to empowering our community with knowledge and promoting holistic wellness.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Lol, I love this question! In short, the answer is no, but there’s so much more to it. The world of aesthetics is vast, with countless avenues to explore. After finishing school, I felt this pressure to know it all and do everything to keep up with the big-name estheticians we admire. I was trying to be a jack of all trades but mastering none. I’ve since learned to slow down and focus on specializing in a specific area where I can truly make a difference for each client I work with, and grow from there.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a skincare specialist and medical assistant at VitaLuxx, where my primary role is to address and care for our clients’ skin health and concerns. I specialize in improving various skin issues, including hyperpigmentation, acne, aging, texture, and congestion, among others. What sets me apart is my customized approach, as I recognize that everyone’s skin is unique. After thoroughly assessing each client’s skin, I tailor the treatments and at-home regimen recommendations to what suits them best. What I’m most proud of is helping people feel more confident in their own skin.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
When I was a child, my mom sold makeup and skincare products. On weekends, we’d have our own little spa days. I’d sit in a chair soaking my feet, covering my face with every facial product I could find in her bin, and excitedly circling all the new products I wanted to try from the latest magazine order.
