Today we’d like to introduce you to Tuyen Nguyen.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I went to the US nine years ago. I started my first work as a nail manicurist then I had my boy and time for working in the salon is so long that I could not have good time for him. So I decided to try a new work as a lash artist and I realized I love it so much. I worked full-time for someone’s business at the beginning when my boy was at the daycare. Then he was growing and I knew that his school will finish around 2-3 pm and he needs support for homework plus outdoor activities. So I was switching to run my own business. I found a location and built my little studio. My husband business is very busy and always on the air so I am the one who takes care of my boy for most of the time. My schedule is flexible and I can follow up my son better. Covid came that made us a pause and did a big move from California to here. And again, I have to start over. Since I had the experience of starting up 2,5 years ago so I am ready for it. It is amazing that you can do the thing you love and have time for your family. I am just new in Orlando like over a month but I strongly believe my business will grow as it used to be and thanks for my ladies that put their trust on me to enhance their nature beauty.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well, it was very good and of course to get there, I just keep learning since lashing is an art. It is not just apply the extensions on the client’s lashes. I spent a lot of time on practice, learning from online or from master trainer. At least you should have one training a year to update your knowledge and follow up on the new technique and tips to keep your client’s lashes last longer, healthy. And most important thing is listening to client’s desire. I spent a lot of time for the consultation and clients are happy with the results since they get what they love.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a lash artist and it has been almost five years in the industry. I specialize in classic and handmade volume lashes. Lashing is an art and it is not just a work of putting extensions on lashes. It is communication between artist and client to know what they want and based on clients eye shape, face structure to give the advice for which type of lashes or shape that they should get. So the result will turn out different from everyone. And my volume is handmade volume so I check client nature lash health and make a volume fan is just for her lashes. Your nature lashes are long and short, thin and thick so every volume fan I made is different. So it is healthier for nature lash and lasts longer since I made it freshly and just dip one time on the adhesive instead of premade fan is all the same fan (machine- made fan). Also, I follow up my clients for aftercare details and check them out few days after the service done to make sure everything is good.
What’s next?
Since I am new here so I understand it takes time to build a new business and I am working on it so I believe I will get there one day. I also want to learn more and more in the industry. I really want to build my brand Lash’n Bliss to be popular and working on my product lines. Keep learning, join more master classes, find better products to bring the best service to my clients.
