Meet About Tuesday

Today we’d like to introduce you to About Tuesday.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We started practicing together as a band in May of 2020. Our drummer Rex was looking to start a band, found Sean through a mutual friend, and we found Austin and Dom through Facebook. Most of us have played in different musical projects throughout our high school and college years, which gives us all different experiences and ideas to bring this one collective group.

When we were getting ready to play at our first open mic at Bloodhound Brew, we had trouble coming up with a band name. We wanted it to be organic and come naturally. When we kept talking about Tuesday meaning the open mic night, the more we said it, the more we liked it and that’s how we got our name About Tuesday. Since then, we owe every gig we’ve played to that open mic, so Tuesday is a very special day for us.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every road has some lumps and bumps along the way. Thats how you make progress. For example, we’ve had some lineup changes with a few members having to exit the band, as well as having to work around our day jobs and other responsibilities.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We play pop/punk, rock, alternative covers of songs you’ve probably forgotten about. We go as far back as the late 70s and into the late 2000s. What sets us apart is the energy of our stage show, the pride we take in our work, our sexy looks and our musical prowess, haha.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
We as a band know that we need to embrace risk to grow, and we gladly accept that challenge. As far as risks we’ve already taken, we are really proud that we went from playing 15-minute sets to playing 3 hour gigs in such a short amount of time, as well as putting our own About Tuesday sauce on some of the covers we do.
