Meet Adrian Ervin of E’Lay Massage LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Ervin.

Adrian Ervin

Hi Adrian, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story? How did you get to where you are today?
Originally born in Texas and growing up in Mississippi, I joined the military a year after graduating high school. After being assigned to multiple duty locations, serving three combat deployments, and two overseas assignments, I attended my final duty station at Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA, and retired honorably as a Chief Warrant Officer Two (CW2). After retirement, I worked a few jobs; however, they felt outside my calling. After a life-changing event, I relocated to Central Florida and found myself in Leesburg. While serving in the military, I had often wanted to attend massage therapy school; however, with the high demand of the military job, I could not attend while on active duty. After relocating to FL, I finally decided to attend massage therapy school. After looking online for brief schools near me, I found Aveda Institute of Winter Park (Orlando), registered for massage courses, and attended from August 2022 – May 2023. The experience of learning new things and how to help people ignited a spark in me. Once graduated,

I then passed my state board test and received my official state massage therapist license in September 2023 (MA103680). I then started my own business as a mobile massage therapist and started E’Lay Massage LLC. As a mobile licensed massage therapist (LMT), I provide treatments in the following modalities: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Cupping Therapy, Myofascial Release, Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage, Ice Massage, Reflexology, Body Contouring & Active, and Passive stretching. I also provide skin care treatments of Inkless Stretch Mark Removal/Revision and Scar Lightening.

Helping clients reach and achieve their massage treatment goals is my passion and an enriching experience. Each client is different in their way, making their treatment special and unique to them as individuals. Having the experience of working with and helping older adults with therapeutic touch massage holds a special place for me. As a child, I remember my grandmother asking me to give her back and foot massages. At the time, I didn’t know what I was doing, but she always told me how nice my touch felt and that I had very nice hands. Older adults, young adults, and children can benefit from some form of massage.

I am thrilled to be a part of the massage therapy community and am always looking to master my craft and find more ways to help my clients with their specific treatment goals. Eventually, I would like to open up my spa, but until then, I’ll continue to provide mobile massages throughout Central Florida.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There are always struggles when it comes to opening a new start-up business. There are start-ups, figuring out how to engage with the public, and finding your niche. Since this is the fourth LLC I have opened and I have a BA in business administration, I have prior experience and know-how of the start-up process and what it takes to start up. The struggle is just building up the clients. There are pros and cons of being mobile, and each pro and con has to be assessed on how it helps and or hinders the business. My main thing is to keep putting one foot in front of the other and staying positive.

We’ve been impressed with E’Lay Massage LLC, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
After opening my LLC, E’Lay Massage, I decided to work as a mobile massage therapist. People love massages, and I have found many people would rather have them in the comfort of their surroundings. With mobile massage, I can bring clients the same basic services that they normally receive by going to an in-person location, such as Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Hot Stones, Cupping Therapy, Reflexology, Myofascial Release, Active and Passive stretching, and other modalities. By bringing massage to businesses, I make myself available for clients while they conduct their jobs. This is a great value and opportunity for employees to receive massages at work. I also provide add-ons such as CBD and foot scrubs. I have recently been providing massages to older adults at assisted living facilities. Clients may be unable to attend in-person massage sessions and are often forgotten. It is my goal to provide as many services to assisted facilities as possible and provide therapeutic massage to this population of clients. As a veteran, I understand the sacrifices of our military while serving our country. In honor of supporting them, I give discounts to all military, first responders, teachers, and healthcare workers. New clients also receive a discount on their first massage session.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is taking a road trip from Mississippi to New York. My family and I drove through the East Coast on our way up to New York. It was fun spending time as a family together and seeing new things. It was the last big family trip we could all take together.
