Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexander Azar.
Hi Alexander, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My partner and I had a hobby of taking pictures and recording videos when we were younger. In March of 2021, we decided to form an LLC around it and we have slowly been building a dedicated list of clients ever since!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. One major challenge has been the cost of equipment. A good quality camera is extremely expensive and carries with it the cost of a good quality lens. This equipment is necessary to rationalize prices and win big clients. Another obstacle has been logistics. My partner and I are both enrolled at different universities and have had to travel long distances to fulfill certain requirements. However, scaling and finding the right people has proven to be our biggest challenge to date.
As you know, we’re big fans of Avalon Media Group. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in general photography, videography, and marketing. This includes portraits, event coverage, sports media, advertisement production, marketing consultation, product photography, and headshots.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Push through those first 2-3 years where it is all up in the air and before your concept is fully proven. If you have dedication and consistency, you will land clients and garner the credibility needed to build a dedicated client base. Constantly improve upon your ideas and incorporate new ideas into your model. Do not be afraid to take risk and put yourself on the line for something greater than yourself.
