Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Austin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve lived in Central Florida for over 10 years! In 2020, after marrying my husband Marqell, we moved to Lakeland, Florida to be closer to my husband’s job. We have a fur baby named Melly who is full of energy! Marqell and I love traveling, trying new foods, & experiencing new adventures together.
I’ve always had an eye for design and a love for event planning. In the beginning of 2021, I threw a moving away party for a friend who was moving away. Not long after that, I began planning my own wedding & that is when I really became motivated to make a career out of my passion for event and weeding planning. Not long after, Red Rose Events was born!
As a previous bride myself, I fully understand how stressful it can be to execute an idea and make it a reality. At Red Rose Events, we help our clients organize everything from start to finish to ensure that their event is exactly as they envisioned.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The most challenging thing for me so far was early in starting my business. I’ve never been one that likes being the center of attention & at times I can be a bit of an introvert, so putting myself out there online and initiating connections with other vendors & business owners in the area was definitely intimidating. However, I knew that these things were necessary for me to be successful in this industry & would be beneficial for me in the long run.

We are a Wedding & Event Planning Company that specializes in Weddings. We offer Full Wedding Planning Services that help couples who are engaged but live busy lives that leave little time for the planning process. We also offer Partial Wedding Planning as well as Day of Coordination for those couples who desire to fully enjoy planning their own wedding but want to step back and fully enjoy their wedding day!
Although we specialize in weddings, we also plan & coordinate other events such as Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Anniversary Parties & Corporate Events!
We take pride in being affordable for the everyday couple who wants to have the wedding that they’ve always dreamt of whether that being a large, fairytale wedding, a small destination ceremony or an intimate elopement. No matter what your ideal wedding looks like in your mind, working with us, you’ll know that you’re getting 110% of our time & expertise to deliver an organized and gorgeous event!
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I owe a lot of the success of my business to my mom & my closest friends Tamalee, Chloe, & Dane as well as my Mother-in-law because they supported the idea of me starting Red Rose Events long before it came into existence. Of course, my husband Marqell deserves a shout-out as well. He helps me so much by listening to my ideas, helping me set up events, and being my event assistant at almost every wedding and event I work. Finally, I wouldn’t be where I am today without my mentor Jamie Wolfer. She is well-known wedding planner in the industry, and provides a 6 month certification course that helps wedding planners better their business. Without her course and mentorship, I wouldn’t be the business woman I am today
