Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Truluck.
Hi Ali, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Truluck Studio came to life through a mix of grit, grace, and a whole lot of prayer. I started my career just four years ago and opened the salon only six months after getting my license—right after finishing beauty school during the height of COVID. It was a wild time to jump in, but I knew I was being called to build something different.
From day one, I wanted to create more than just a salon. I envisioned a space that felt high-end yet welcoming—a studio rooted in purpose, education, and elevated artistry. Today, Truluck Studio is a certified IBE® salon working exclusively with hand-tied extensions, blonding, and lived-in color.
But the real heart of our studio is our team. The women I work alongside are nothing short of incredible. Their talent, work ethic, and passion are what make Truluck Studio what it is. I’m so proud of the culture we’ve built together—where independence, growth, and community all coexist.
We’ve also created an in-house internship program that allows cosmetology students to get hands-on experience and mentorship. Watching those students grow into confident, successful stylists within our salon has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
Since launching, we’ve introduced our luxury extension line, Truluck Reserve, and we’ve begun laying the groundwork to expand along Florida’s coast. Still, none of this would be possible without our foundation of putting Jesus first in everything we do. Christ is the cornerstone and the solidarity of our business. The love and support of my husband, our stylist, my family, our clients, and the community that continues to believe in this vision.
This journey has been prayer-led every step of the way—and I truly believe we’re just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been anything but smooth—but it’s been worth every step. Truluck Studio with nothing but a vision, prayer, and relentless drive. Starting a business that early in my career was equal parts exciting and terrifying. I didn’t have a roadmap—just a strong sense that I was being called to do things differently.
There were seasons where I questioned everything: if I was doing it too soon, if I was cut out for leadership, or if I could really build what I dreamed of without burning out. I’ve also faced the unique challenges of being a young woman in business, learning to set boundaries, make hard decisions, and stay rooted in who I am, even when others didn’t understand the vision yet.
But through every setback, God has been so faithful. My husband, family, and the girls in the salon have been my backbone. Every struggle has shaped the culture of Truluck Studio—it’s made us stronger, more intentional, and more grounded in our purpose. So while it hasn’t been easy, I wouldn’t change a thing.

And we make sure everyone who walks through our doors feels more like family than just a name on the schedule. It’s not just about great hair—it’s about how you feel when you leave.
We’ve cultivated a team of independent artists who are deeply talented and genuinely supportive of one another. Our in-house internship program has helped turn students into thriving stylists, and it’s one of the parts of the business I’m most proud of. We’re building a culture of growth, faith, and excellence—from the inside out.

And as we begin laying the groundwork for future expansion along Florida’s coast, our mission stays the same: to serve with intention, walk in faith, and create beauty that lasts beyond the chair.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are a mix of sweet, simple, and a little wild. I remember watching my mom do her makeup—she was a single mom until I was 8, and I thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world. Beach days with family, surf lessons with my dad, swimming with my stepsisters, jumping the fence to walk to our friends’ houses, and picking fruit off the neighbors’ trees… it all felt so carefree.
Even though life looked different at times, I can see now how God’s hand was over it all. Those moments gave me strength, creativity, and a deep appreciation for connection. They made me who I am—and I carry that mix of grit, joy, and faith into everything I do today.
