Meet Alyce Vani Danielle Kumar of Little Elements Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyce Vani Danielle Kumar.

Hi Alyce Vani, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As stay at home moms and best friends, we spent so much time together and always looked for activities for our kids to enjoy. One day we decided to make homemade play-dough for our kids to enjoy. We ended up providing them with little trinkets and cookie cutters to use with the play-dough, and realized how much they enjoyed playing with it all!

We researched and thought it would be fun to make themed play-dough jars for our friend’s kids. Fast forward a few weeks later our friend Sandra, who is the owner of The Naked Cupcake, saw our play-dough jars and asked us if we’d like to sell them at her bakery. We said we’d give it a try and realized others also loved our items too!

We decided to not only make play-dough, but to create homemade potion kits, and themed sensory bins as well.

Being creative helped us manage the stress of being stay at home moms and being creative felt therapeutic for us.
We started attending markets as vendors and received such a positive response from the community.

We are now two years into our small business journey. We still sell our items at The Naked Cupcake, we also have an online shop including Etsy, and we occasionally attend markets as well.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
For the most part it has been a very smooth journey for us! We have 5 kids combined and we are very active, so sometimes our scheduling can interfere with taking on projects. We really want to make sure we are present for our families, especially our children. We make sure to not take on too much and to set boundaries that way we continue to feel balanced with work/life

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Little Elements Orlando ?
We are advocates for PLAY! Together, we have backgrounds in Psychology and Elementary Education, with certifications in Victim Advocacy and Exceptional Student Education. Collectively, we have 5 children ranging from ages 3-8 and as two SAHMs desperate to keep our kids entertained we created, Little Elements Sensory Kits.

Using our unique skill sets we have curated sensory experiences to engage and immerse your child in play that fosters social interactions, strengthens fine motor skills. encourages mindfulness, promotes cognitive growth and helps develop language skills (to name a few).

We offer themed homemade play-dough jars and kits, themed sensory bins, as well as potion kits. Our play dough jars and kits can be taken pretty much anywhere, including: car rides, airplane rides, restaurants, and more! We also love creating custom orders including party favors!

All of our products are made using ingredients from our pantry, which means they are safe for the little ones to use.

Our play-dough kits come with a guide that provides adults with additional activities, learning opportunities, paired reading suggestions, and discussion starters to enrich the sensory experience and help create connections for your little learners!

What does success mean to you?
Success to us means having the ability to balance meaningful time with our children while fostering creativity and making a positive impact in our community. We love having the flexibility of being creators and building our brand, while also having our children on this journey with us. It’s fun being out locally and being recognized as, “The Play-Dough Girls”.
