Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Osorio.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Andrea Osorio: Creating Beauty with Purpose
I have always believed that beauty goes far beyond what we see. For me, aesthetics are a way of inhabiting the world—a sensitivity that guides every decision, every detail, and every experience I create. My work with flowers is not simply about decorating spaces; it is about harmonizing them, humanizing them, and filling them with intention.
Originally from Colombia, I have been deeply drawn to beauty in all its forms for as long as I can remember—nature, plants, animals, sunsets, photography, thoughtful gestures, and the quiet elegance found in doing things with care. This sensitivity led me to study fashion design and later to expand my aesthetic vision through studies in marketing, etiquette, and photography. Through this journey, I came to understand that beauty is not only created—it is communicated, observed, and honored in the smallest details.
My professional path began over ten years ago as a wedding planner. From the very beginning, my purpose was to guide couples through the planning of their weddings in a way that felt calm, loving, and truly enjoyable. Through this work, I discovered more than a profession—I found a form of service, and unexpectedly, a space for healing. Supporting others with presence, sensitivity, and calm became my way of transforming what can feel overwhelming into an experience filled with trust, joy, and meaning. I have always believed—and continue to believe—that the most meaningful moments in life should be lived without rush and with intention.
Along this path, as I explored flowers as an essential element of event design and storytelling, something beautiful happened: I fell completely in love with them. Without searching for it, flowers became my language, my creative refuge, and the heart of my work.
I am a romantic by nature, deeply in love with love itself and the stories that celebrate it. Through floral design, I found a way to serve—to bring joy, emotion, and well-being into people’s lives. My connection to nature is genuine and constant; I draw inspiration from its cycles, its organic harmony, and the imperfect beauty that exists in all living things.
Long before becoming a professional floral designer and event stylist, I was already creating intuitively. More than seventeen years ago, I designed and executed every detail of my children’s birthday celebrations with care, intention, and attention to aesthetics and experience. At the time, I didn’t realize it, but those moments were planting the seeds of what would later become my vocation and life’s work.
Today, from Orlando—where I settled nearly ten months ago—I lead Andrea Osorio Floral Design, a creative studio dedicated to floral design and the styling of weddings, events, hotels, lobbies, homes, and thoughtfully curated spaces. My work is defined by an almost obsessive attention to detail and impeccable finishes—not as a pursuit of rigid perfection, but as a deep respect for the process, the materials, and the people involved.
Every design begins with listening—truly listening—to the essence, desires, and vision of those who trust me. Each creation is deeply connected to nature and well-being and is crafted with intention, seeking to authentically reflect who my clients are and how they wish to feel within their spaces and celebrations.
More than a floral designer, I create soulful atmospheres. My story is one of intuition, resilience, sensitivity, and perseverance—a woman who trusted her inner voice, crossed borders, and chose to bloom where she was planted, carrying a deeply personal and honest way of understanding beauty, service, and life itself.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like any creative and entrepreneurial journey, my path has been shaped by deep and transformative challenges. One of the most significant has been starting over in another country—leaving behind a well-established career to build something new within a demanding and highly competitive market.
This transition has required adaptability, patience, and inner strength. There have been moments of uncertainty, necessary pauses, and periods of adjustment that tested not only my professional project, but my personal world as well. Moving to Orlando meant rebuilding from the ground up—relationships, trust, rhythm, and vision—within an entirely new environment.
Alongside this process, I have also been learning to find balance between my personal and professional life, navigating this new chapter with my two children while continuing to shape and grow my creative work. Holding both worlds with sensitivity, coherence, and love has become an essential part of my journey, as I have come to understand that personal well-being is inseparable from the way I create and work.
Despite the challenges of beginning again in another country, I recognize how fortunate I have been to encounter angels along the way—generous people who welcomed me, supported me, and walked beside me at pivotal moments. In the same way, I have fallen deeply in love with Orlando, “The City Beautiful”—a place that embraced me with warmth and allowed me to put down roots, build community, and begin to flourish.
Rather than weakening me, obstacles have always propelled me forward. Each experience has become an opportunity to reaffirm my resilience, my faith, and my commitment to creating in a conscious and authentic way. These challenges have strengthened my character and deepened my connection to my purpose, shaping a clearer and more aligned sense of who I am.
Today, I see this journey as a living school of personal and creative growth. The challenges have cultivated a more compassionate, present, and grounded way of being—one from which I continue to create with intention. For me, resilience is not only the ability to endure, but the ability to evolve, bloom, and create with coherence, even in the midst of change.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My work is guided by a deeply conscious and personalized approach. Rather than following trends or formulas, I treat each project as a unique creative process—one where aesthetics, emotion, and functionality exist in thoughtful balance, always responding to the specific needs and vision of each client and space.
I view floral design and styling as a way of translating sensations into floral compositions and environments. Every creative process begins with careful observation and analysis: the essence of the couple or the protagonists of each celebration, the venue, the light, the proportions, and the way people will move through and experience the space. From there, I develop concepts that naturally dialogue with the architecture, the celebration, and its surroundings, resulting in designs that feel harmonious, coherent, and deeply intentional.
Planning and execution are just as essential as inspiration. With a solid foundation as a wedding planner, I bring structure, organization, and clarity to every stage of the process, offering a seamless and reliable experience that provides peace of mind to those who trust my vision. This balance between creative sensitivity and strategic thinking is one of the core pillars of my work.
Attention to detail and impeccable finishes are part of the DNA of Andrea Osorio Floral Design. From the selection of flowers and materials to the final installation, every element is carefully considered to ensure precise, elegant execution that remains faithful to the original concept.
More than creating floral arrangements or décor, I design visual experiences that feel natural, balanced, and timeless. My work seeks to allow spaces to breathe beauty and coherence, leaving a lasting impression that is felt both visually and emotionally.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I have never understood luck as a matter of chance. For me, it is the result of dedication, commitment, responsibility, and passion—the way I choose to approach everything I do, and the deep sense of care with which I serve through my work.
What I consider my greatest fortune has been encountering people along my path who value my talent and trust my vision, offering me the creative freedom to express myself authentically. That trust has been a constant gift and a powerful source of growth, allowing me to create from intention, respect, and sensitivity.
I also recognize as an essential part of my good fortune the people who have walked beside me. In Colombia, I had the privilege of building a loving and committed dream team—individuals who believed in me, supported my vision, and worked with dedication and unconditional care. That experience deeply shaped the way I lead, collaborate, and create in community.
Today, in this new chapter, life continues to surprise me. Here in Orlando, I have encountered generous and meaningful people who have welcomed and supported me in different ways, reaffirming my belief that when work is done with honesty, sensitivity, and love, the right connections naturally appear.
For me, luck is not something to wait for—it is something that is built. And it reveals itself, above all, through the human connections that accompany the journey and give true meaning to everything that is created.
