Meet Anibis Almeyda of Berry Delight CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anibis Almeyda

Hi Anibis, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Our small business started back in September of 2022 in a small town named Vacaville in California. I decided to start this business as a side hustle while working full time for AT&T as sales consultant. This small business consists of making custom orders with dipped chocolate strawberries. My first sample batch was strawberries covered in pulparindo, tajin and chamoy; which I took to my work since most of my colleagues were Mexicans and they love their fruits with tajin. Nevertheless, I started telling some of the customers and my coworkers about customized orders and I started getting orders from some of my coworkers. Lastly, we are here today thanks to hard work, motivation and dedication of wanting my small business to succeed and grow.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say that every business has its ups and downs however that hasn’t stopped me from keep working hard. I would say that some of the struggles that I have experienced along the way is moving to a different state where you basically have to start from scratch.

As you know, we’re big fans of Berry Delight CA. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My small business specializes in making dipped chocolate covered strawberries and other sweets. I create customized orders for different life events like birthdays, holidays, baptisms, baby showers, etc. We are known for our tajin-pulparindo covered strawberries and also our oreo, almonds and coconut covered strawberries. I would say that my business sets us apart from others because I have love and passion since I was a little girl I always loved baking sweets and I dreamed of owning my own bakery.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when I was in the kitchen baking sweets and other traditional Cuban dishes with my grandmother. We were always making croquettes, stuffed potatoes, tamales, flans, bread puddings, buñuelos, etc.
