Hi Anna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey in the corporate world as a paralegal, where I spent 8 years climbing the corporate ladder. But as a single mom of three, I knew I wanted more and to value my time—for myself and for my kids. Leaving the “stability” of my career wasn’t easy, but with nothing but my savings, hopes, and dreams, I decided to take the leap & bet on myself.
Starting my own business wasn’t without its challenges. I faced setbacks, 2 failed entrepreneurial ventures, and the struggle of breaking into a male-dominated space where women are often seen as less than and women see you as competition instead of collaborators. But I refused to let those challenges define me. I kept showing up, even when it was hard and when the days were the longest, because I wanted to create something bigger than myself.
Today, I’ve built Anna O. & Co., a marketing and public relations agency dedicated to helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses with purpose and authenticity. What started as a one-woman show is now a thriving team that empowers others to find their voice, scale their brands, and connect with their audience in a meaningful way. My story is proof that no matter where you start, you can create something extraordinary with vision, determination, and a little faith. If ME, mom of three can do it…. then what’s stopping you?
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road. My journey has been filled with challenges that shaped not only my business but also me as a person. One of the hardest seasons of my life was when I lost my grandmother, she was my mom & my best friend. I was her main caretaker during her time in hospice, all while trying to keep my business afloat. At the time, I thought I was in the ‘prime’ of my business- bringing in $15k+ a month—but when she passed, it felt like the world stopped. For the first time, I truly lost my fire.
It was also a time when I realized how small my personal support system was. Aside from my sister, who’s been my rock, I felt like I had to carry everything on my own while showing up for my clients and my kids. It was overwhelming.
But even in those moments of loss & confusion, I learned to lean into the resilience I had within me that I got from my granny. I found my spark again by remembering why I started in the first place. Those struggles taught me how to build a business that wasn’t just about surviving but thriving—and, most importantly, how to create a community that supports and uplifts others. Now, I take every hard lesson as a stepping stone and use it to inspire others to keep going, even when the road feels impossible- and everything I do is in honor of my mama.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success is about authenticity, purpose, and impact. It’s about building something that aligns with who you are and what you love, while helping others do the same. When your work is rooted in purpose and intention, everything starts to fit.
I’ve been in the space of imposter syndrome and chasing things that didn’t align, but I’ve learned that when you lead with what feels right, your success flows naturally & it becomes intertwined with the success of those you help. ‘Brand with Purpose’ has always been my mantra, because true success isn’t just what you build for yourself, but the legacy you create by helping others grow too.
