Hi Bene, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
At Glorious By Design, we believe a truly great brand isn’t just a logo you see. It’s a vibe, a memorable experience, like sharing a signature cocktail that leaves you saying, “Wow, I need the recipe for that!”
Our journey didn’t start in a sterile office, though. It started over a decade ago in the fun, frantic, and incredibly rewarding world of live events. Our founder, Bene Barton, had a very simple but powerful belief held by our founder: everyone is uniquely made and deserves to express their authentic self, especially in their professional life. She saw this done through events from the music, the lighting, to the feeling, the goal was to turn a simple gathering into an unforgettable, genuine human connection. It was there Bene learned our biggest secret: an event is just a brand served live and in person.
That realization was her “aha!” moment. She looked at our success and realized our true passion/mission was actually in crafting the entire recipe, the strategy, the stunning visuals, and the compelling story, that made those events so impactful. We decided to take that expertise and focus it entirely on Strategic Branding. Today, we’ve blended our deep history in experiential design with meticulous brand architecture to create something special: brands that are built to be experienced, trusted, and designed to help you make a real, resounding difference.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Oh, absolutely not! If the road were perfectly smooth, we probably wouldn’t have learned as much!
Our biggest challenge, without a doubt, was navigating our own evolution. We started by excelling in events, which is very hands-on and logistical. Deciding to shift fully into Strategic Branding required us to step away from the immediate gratification of a successful event day and focus on the deeper, long-term strategic work. It meant teaching our clients, and even ourselves initially, that the power of our background wasn’t in doing the event anymore, but in using that experiential knowledge to build a much stronger, more tangible brand foundation.
The struggle was communicating this pivot effectively. Showing people that we didn’t lose our magic; we just channeled it into creating the master blueprint instead of just building the house. Like any major rebrand, it took persistence, clear storytelling, and a lot of confidence to show the industry that our “event expertise” is now our superpower in making brands feel real and memorable.

We specialize in Strategic Brand Architecture and Visual Identity. Essentially, we are known for building brands that feel incredibly real, memorable, and expertly balanced. We take a brand from its core strategy (the ‘why’ and ‘how’) right through to a stunning, cohesive visual system (the ‘what’).

This means we don’t treat branding as a static, two-dimensional exercise. We know how every element from color palette to tone of voice has to perform live and in motion. What are you most proud brand wise?
We are most proud of our signature methodology, the ‘Mixology’ approach. It’s the process where we meticulously blend strategic discovery with creative flair to craft a result that is both effective and entirely unique to the client. What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We see the strategic branding industry undergoing a significant transformation over the next 5 to 10 years, primarily driven by three big shifts:
1. The Rise of Experiential Branding: The biggest shift is moving past visual identity alone. Consumers are saturated with designs, so they are demanding brands that feel real. The future of branding is rooted in experience, which is exactly why our background in events has become so vital. Brands will need to think about how their identity translates across all touchpoints, especially in-person, not just on a screen. Agencies that can design a brand’s atmosphere and feeling will lead the way.
2. Hyper-Authenticity and Values: Generic ‘pretty’ brands will die out. The market will reward brands that are deeply honest about their values and purpose. This means strategy and narrative development will become even more important than aesthetic design. The focus will shift to finding a client’s core truth and building an identity that powerfully and unapologetically expresses it.
3. Integration of AI as a Tool, Not a Replacement: AI will become incredibly powerful for rapid prototyping and generating aesthetic options. However, the human element, the ability to connect a design to a unique, strategic story, and to understand the nuanced feeling of a brand, will become the most valuable commodity. We see AI serving as a fast ‘bar back,’ but the human Brand Strategist (the ‘Mixologist’) will always be needed to perfect the final recipe and ensure it has soul.
