Meet Brendan “Gordy Rattler” Devlin of Ocala Fl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brendan “Gordy Rattler” Devlin

Gordy Rattler, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My love for wrestling began around 4 years old when my dad showed me who The Big Show was. From there we went on to start watching Friday Night Smackdown just about every week that we could. With names like Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Mike Knox, Finlay, and The Undertaker catching my attention every week for many years to come, it finally dawned on me around 6 years old that I wanted to be in the ring. My Dad told me that same day that I had to become athletic. I immediately got into team sports such as Baseball and Soccer, but grew a bigger love throughout middle school and high school for sports such as Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse. After my senior year of high school I went on to go get further education out in St Petersburg Florida, where I got my initial foot in the door as a ring announcer for Brick City Entertainment. I then went on to train under Brick City Entertainment with head coaches “DeathMark” Mark Tendler and Johnny Downing (AKA Johnny Magnum) where some of the best days of my life occurred, consisting of 6-8 hour training sessions in June July and August heat where the character “Gordy Rattler” truly began. I met some great people throughout those months such as Chris Braddock, Joseph Matthews, my now tag team partner Blade Cruise, and even WCW’s Great American Giant Buck Brezner! A couple months go by of consistent hard work, and dedication, and I get told I would be performing in Brick City Entertainment’s student show “Open House”. From there I began my first rivalry with Deathmark, ending in a hardcore match to crown the Inaugural Brick City Entertainment Champion. Fast forward to January of 2024, I win my first championship as the Brick City Entertainment Great American Champion, holding it for a record still standing to this day for 6 months and 2 days. After this reign I met someone who I was very familiar with as a fan of Independent Wrestling, who then became a great mentor, Romeo Quevedo. Around this time I went on to take my first booking out of state for IWF-TN in Sparta TN. Although I fell short to Reynoso that night, something sparked in me again that this is what I want to do for the rest of my working days. Fast forward to modern day I can proudly say Ive worked for many reputable promotions, such as Pro Wrestling Rebellion, and Knockout Entertainment, and am reaching for the stars to become the very best I can be in the industry of professional wrestling.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There has been many obstacles along the way, but I’m a firm believer if there aren’t any obstacles along the way, you must be doing something wrong.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Independent “Indy” Wrestler. A Sports Entertainer. I’m known to either be the biggest hero in the ring that everyone loves, or the most brash arrogant and obnoxious guy in the room, with little to no in between.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
This is a very tricky question, as I believe that everything happens for a reason, rather than getting “lucky” a time or two for any specific reason.
