Hi Brett, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
There have been many, many people and ideas that went into Crystal Complexion. My history of me is a long story but in a short and sweet version, I did not find myself until later in life. My passion grew alongside my own challenges and successes. The beauty industry is so saturated with an obsession to be better than the last person. Always have better skin, better lashes, better hair, etc. C.C. Is about loving what you have and embracing the cracks and crevices in your skin. I have spent the last 10 years perfecting my craft and honing in on skills. Growing up, I suffered from psoriasis, Cystic Acne, and oily and rough skin. My education, my determination, and my passion drove me to better myself. No single person ever showed me the way to my best skin. So, I found it myself, and I’m ready to share my knowledge and experience with all of you! I’m so blessed to have such amazing clients who have fallen in love with their skin again. I want that for every human around me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I have been met with several challenges in this industry. First off, being a male in a predominantly female industry poses its own challenges.
When it comes to Crystal Complexion I have been met with every challenge, tax, fee, problem, and miscommunication I could ever have. I am used to going with the flow of things and never really get mad at what life has presented to me. The universe is a very big place, you just need to carve your spot out in it. It was never easy for me but with the support of my partner and my family/friends, I have cultivated a smooth-running business that offers confidence and self-love.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am absolutely obsessed with eyebrows. I love performing brow services; it can really redefine your facial structure and your expression. One of the first things you look at when setting eyes on a person is … their eyes of course. What frames your eyes? Correct, your eyebrows. Other than eyebrows I also really enjoy performing custom facials. I mix holistic energy work with natural ingredients and a few understandings for the skin. You will always find crystals at Crystal Complexion. Coming next month, I am announcing a new service called Facial Experiences that relax and rework the entire body’s energy.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Altamonte is booming right now! I’ve noticed so many shops and construction happening in the past year. I don’t like the construction and all the dust but after they reveal their projects, I’m always amazed at what my city has to offer. It is close to places like winter park, downtown Orlando, and I4. Extremely convenient.
