Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Boltz.
Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After graduating college, I worked as a probation and pretrial service officer where I was introduced to the criminal justice system and realized my love for the courtroom. I was inspired to attend law school and become a lawyer in 2008. I worked for the first nine years of my career at a large insurance defense firm, working on behalf of insurance companies. In 2017, I started my own law firm, Boltz Legal. I now represent medical providers, homeowners, business owners and injured victims against insurance companies and negligent parties. Having worked for and now against insurance companies helps me strategize the best action plan for my clients.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The life of a litigation attorney is full of obstacles. I once heard someone say our job as litigators is so stressful because every task we try to accomplish, there is an equally educated and skillful attorney on the opposing side trying to thwart our plans.
When I started my law firm in 2017, I had very little resources and very few clients. There was a constant concern over where the next client or case would come from. Thankfully, in the four years Boltz Legal has been in business, we have grown in size and revenue each year and are blessed to have helped hundreds of clients.
We’ve been impressed with Boltz Legal, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an injury and insurance attorney. I am most proud of (1) the number of clients our firm has helped in just four years of business; and (2) the superior staff that I have the opportunity to work with each day. We pride ourselves on keeping clients informed and responding to client inquiries timely. While I obviously have staff who assists me, every client has direct access to me when needed. I believe that I am relatable to my clients and give them an honest assessment of their case, whether good or bad.
What were you like growing up?
At age ten (and again at age 12), I played tackle football on a boys’ team. Despite the skepticism and criticism I faced, I became a valuable member of the team. Also in elementary school, I was tested twice for the gifted program and failed both times. For the remainder of my academic career, I was determined to succeed despite not being “gifted.” I ultimately graduated high school, college and law school with Honors. Being driven to succeed in the face of doubters has been a lifelong motivation for me. As a young lawyer, I remember telling my boss that I needed gray hair before any other attorney was going to take me seriously. I was determined to build a reputation of excellence despite my age, and I hope that I did. In recent years, after having achieved some of those gray hairs, some still doubted my ability to build a successful law practice of my own. But, here I am, consistently growing in size and revenue, living my dream, and helping others along the way.
